So when we buy some of these CF products for our cars like spoilers and skirts - is clear coat or other weather protection needed? Anyone care to chime in on how these accessories weather the elements?

quality of resin and uv protection (clear coats etc) that is used determines the lasting quality of the piece of carbon fiber. When a piece of CF yellows thats the resin breaking down. With higher quality pieces they use higher quality uv protection and better lasting material.
Anyone that knows more about FRP can chime in and say EXACTLY what it is.. but that is generally what it is.
