Toyo R888 Final Assessment..
Final count....6859 miles:
Avg. speed 75-80mph hwy cruising
Avg. speed 35-45 mph city driving
Cornering speed + 10-15mph better than stock
Little no slip on launches when heated properly.
20% hard driving
80% daily driving
Front - 45% tread left
Rear - 10-15% left .....scary on light rain! aquaplaning.
Road noise - loud at first then you get used to it.
Final result - phenomenal performance, aggressive tread design....not at all bad for street use. Scary in heavy rain conditions toward end of tire life.
*most thought my tires would last no more than 3500 miles.

great to here, ill probably throw a set on my c63 soon. I've had great luck with those tires on my supra. Its amazing how such a soft tire that comes with such little tread new can last so long and perform so well in comparison to other tires.

these are a popular tire with the GTR crowd..I hear the road noise is pretty bad on these but they grip like no other. Glad to hear that you've had a positive experience with them so far.

yes r888's way better than pss not even in the same league. A michelin pilot sport cup would be similar/comparable.

Sticky all the way, no issues even after cruising at 75-80mph for 20-30 min straight. I did notice the rear of the car carried a lot more black dust from them after long drives.

Simply awesome....always ready for action....if it just had better water channels I would have kept them on and wasted them down....my rears were basically gone but fronts were still real good after almost 7k miles....outstanding tire.....
As for the noise....first few driving will annoy you....actually continental xtremecontact I am running is way too quiet now for me haha....I grew to love the sound....as long as the wifey isn't in the care haha

Does it grip well when they are not warmed up? I have a lot of short commutes to drive to work and so on, and I was disappointed by the PSS, because they seem to work fine only when warmed up

no they definately need to have some heat in them before they start sticking. Not like burnout/roadrace laps heat. But some decent 100+ degrees.
