seat movement under heavy braking

Hi,

2013 507 Coupe - I have noticed that on occasion, the drivers seat back moves forwards ever so slightly under heavy or sudden braking - anyone else experienced this in their car or is it just my car?

I'm not sure if it's normal, but some ppl (including my car) have the same problem. It doesn't bother me, so I never got it fixed under warranty.

Your knee is probably hitting the switch on the door.

Mine does all the time.

I believe this is normal since my car and two other Mercedes that I have had all did the same thing under heavy breaking.

My guess is the car is putting you in a better position for a potential crash .... seat belts tighten, seats move, etc. I think it is all part of the pre-safe system.

I think this is common to all or most C63's. But it's not related to braking. The seat mechanism actually has some slop built into it (probably not by design). When you first get into the seat of the car, do you notice that it rocks back slightly? Try moving forward in your seat (to take the weight off the seat momentarily). My guess is the same rocking sensation/noise you mention will occur.

I don't know, I'm doing really hard braking on track and have never noticed this other than the belts seem to tighten.

mixed opinions then - it doesn't always happen - i noticed it on track probably once or twice under heaving braking.

mine does the same. it has a slight rock to it under heavy load or braking - more evident in track environment. I'm about 185lbs. I cant say I like it.

Ive had 2 C63's both of them did this. Next time you get in your car move the back of the seat backwards and forwards just in 1 increment, you will noticed you can use your hand to moved the setback a tad more than in other positions, I just had to find the position where it locked and it will lock if you tap the adjuster a few back and forward where you find it.
