After market Rotors ?
Hey guys,
My rotors are going to need replacing in 2 months, which rotors are good and would help with handling ? I have the oem non P31 rotors atm. Price doesn't really matter as long as the rotors are good :P
Thanks

If price does not matter go for 2 pc rotors for weight saving and performance.
ACG was offering some good deal on pads and rotors at some point. Brand is Giro disk.

If I remember correctly the Stock Rotors are not badly priced from the dealer.
Around 100-150 a piece. For that price, you would be hard pressed to find a better rotor for the money.

I just picked up a set of rotors from parts.com. Front and Rears. Fronts were two piece, drilled. Rears were one piece drilled and slotted. So far, performance is just fine.
But, I feel a little 'bait & switch' may have occurred. Their website lists the rear rotors at one price (even when I entered my VIN) but after I placed the order they told me the selected parts were incorrect and the correct parts are actually more - "but, we'll adjust the shipping rate to compensate for that".
How 'bout this parts.com - put the correct price on the parts that are returned when a search is done on my make, model, model year, etc. I don't like it when prices are adjusted UP after I place an order.

I will check into the details later this evening but off the top of my head I think the final price was still higher than the original quote, but not by much - as in near or less than $100.
Also:
The set of prices returned with the search (I was doing pads and rotors on all 4 corners) from parts.com came back ~$200 less than the next best source. But upon check out the shipping rate seemed unreasonably high. So the total cost was now questionable.
So I went back to source #2 and went through the check out process, including better shipping rate but source #2 was still $40 more than parts.com.
So I purchased from parts.com. The next day I got the email about the rear part numbers being wrong and the cost going up, etc.
If they had room to adjust the shipping rate for their boo-boo then why not offer that rate in the first place? Or just say "we will give you the new rear parts for the quoted price".
It was a fishy situation even though in the end it was still $40 less than source #2.

F = $115.20 each R = $172.80 each. (Rotors)
That's a good question about the front pads. I don't have an answer for that. Have you seen the price difference for front rotors for the PP?

Did they adjust the shipping enough to fully compensate the difference? Bait & switch tactics are not looked upon favorably in the realm of contract law.
But, if a company overcharges 10 customers a day for a measley $43 at the end of the week that's over $2k (I am not saying they do this. I am just doing a little math).

nice.did you do it yourself?
I also switched out the new front OE pads for some Porterfield R4S's. I look forward to feeling them for the first time on the track. No, I didn't put those in either.
Got some KW V3's on the way. Obviously not in time for tomorrow - but there'll be another day. I won't be installing those as well. Just not my thing anymore.

If you mean the P31 rotor, they have aluminum hats that are fused to the steel discs. Essentially they are two-piece rotors but because the disc and hat are fused you can't simply change the disc and retain the hat as you can with true two-piece rotors.
Because the hat is aluminium, they are considerably lighter than the non-P31 one-piece rotors.
AFAIK the non-P31 and P31 rotors are interchangeable in that you can mount either on either car.
Cheers,
D.

We have girodisc's in stock. They, in my opinion, are the best upgrade from the stock rotors albeit much more pricey.
Let me know if you'd like pricing on them.

Someone before me said that the stock rotors were $100 - $150 a piece, I was trying to clarify what was more accurate as my shop guy had told me that I am looking at around $800 per rotor for OEM.

unless you're running PP C63, which the front runs 950 MSRP and 684 discounted.
