Yes, more wheels

I'm running blizzaks on the OEM 18s right now and looking at a 19 wheel/tire setup for the summer. I've read countless threads to no avail for some last remaining info. The 100+ page wheel thread, although awesome, is tough to parse.

Can I simply swap out 18/19 sets with no camber adjustment each season? Any gotchas here?

Wheel width. 9.5 vs 10 rear? What's the effect of putting lets say 265/30 on each? Is tire "higher" for the narrower mount? Noticeable? Performance impact? Seems like the narrower wheel would stretch the tire less which may result in a mushy feel?

Offsets. I've seen 45F 50R for the 8.5/10 setup as a de facto consensus starting point. What about the 9.5 rear? No plans (yet!) on lowering the car.

Also, How can I future proof my setup if I hate the look and dive into lower it? Make sure I have a high wheel offset and use spacers to tweak?

I'm a spirited driver and notice how mushy my 235/40/18 blizzak ws70s are at highway speeds...don't want to see that in the summer.

Thanks in advance, this forum is great for a new owner.

You can absolutely switch from 18's to 19's each season w/o any adjustment. The wheels-tires combos should not affect your car as you need to keep the overall diameter as similar as possible to the OEM specs.

If you go 9.5, 265/30 will look & perform perfectly. If you go 10, I would go 275/30 cuz 265/30 is a little stretched. They will both perform as well as I ran both combos in the past. As for the mushy feels, get good brand tires, and you should be fine. Plus soft/mushy sidewalls are mainly caused by bulgy tires (i.e putting 285 tires on a x8 wheels).

As for offset, trust me 8.5F needs +40 to be flush, +45 is to sunk in. The rear, if you go 9.5 do +50 & for 10 do +53 to be on the safe side.

Once you get wheels, you will need to lower the car cuz it wont look good. Lowering always makes the wheels look bigger. You could go higher offset & use spacers later, but it's not necessary. The combos I mentioned have been tested by many members here, and they are safe with lowering.

Thanks. I just pulled the trigger on a set of Forgestar CF5s in matte black from Tal@ACG. Now reconsidering changing it to textured black. On a black car. Any thoughts?

I heard textured is very hard to clean. All the nooks and cranies of the texture hang on to brake dust and dirt.

Congrats on the purchase op and either color option will look great, having said that I would go with the one that is more of a contrasting color than similar. I like textured imho.
