I was driving home from Chicago to the burbs and blew out the front right in a monster Chicago pothole. Pulled off in a "great neighborhood"...apparently the area between the burbs and the city where the suburbanites come in to buy meth and get "other services". I stopped in front of a police station and walked in to make sure I wouldn't get grief for double parking. The cop at the desk looks me up and down and says "dude, you're in the wrong place, there's no ski lift anywhere near here". Then I realize I still have a lift ticket on the jacket from the weekend. Me: "Is there a garage nearby?" Him: "what kind I car is it?" Me: "Mercedes" him: "Um, yeahhhhh, don't even move it, change the tire right there." After 20 minutes of fumbling with the wacky merc jack in 0 degree weather and 3 inches of slush, I'm outta there.
Tire rack tells me not to pair a ws70 with a 60 so I'm looking for a mate to the left one that only has 100 miles on it. Always good to have a backup pair...
