C63's brought to America vs to Gulf
Hello guys,
I have been wondering what is the difference between the german cars, c63's specifically, that are brought to America, for example, and to Gulf countries. Like is the car manufactured differently? with more less options? is it because it is hot around the gulf area so there will be different manufacturing process?
I need a clear clarification please. Prices are really high here. I want to understand the game behind all this crap. Maybe I end up buying that dream car, c63, from the U.S instead of here.
Thank you,
El-Debs

If you mean the Arabian Gulf, then I feel for you bro. I'm from Kuwait and have this same issue. A brand new '13 C63 non-P31 is around $110K which is ridiculous!
Regarding importing one from the US, I don't think that there are much difference between what they have and the ones in the US, Minor differences that may not affect the whole driving experience as a lot of people here are importing AMGs from the US with no issues.
I'm actually in the process of looking for one used to import.
My advice is go for it. It's an AMG, it is built perfectly and don't think we'll face issues regarding different regions and climates.

I don't think there is much difference, I am from Bahrain and got my GLK and my mom's E550 coupe from USA. The prices here are too high compared to the US, i would suggest you go get your dream car and don't worry about anything else. I am aware that the difference is in the options or mainly in grouping the options in one package for example in USA they group a set of options for a certain price but in Bahrain its every option by itself.
Also, of course the gauges are in miles instead of kilos and the radio is a little different it goes by 1 3 5 7 9 so for example i can't go to 94.4 or 105.0, the navigation also doesn't work but i haven't taken it to the dealer so I'm sure it can be fixed .. These are only minor stuff!

I would say my biggest concern would be making sure the safety standards here in the U.S. meet or exceed that of your country.
I know in more recent years it has been more difficult to import vehicles from Japan to the U.S. for this very reason.

All i can say is that it took a lot of time and work to get the cars here, my uncle lives in DC so he did most of the paperwork for me. It took 3 extra months for the car to get here (DC to Bahrain) and 5000$ for shipping each car but it was still worth it!
