Anybody gone from W211 E55 to C63?
I would like to hear your impressions. What you miss about the E55, what you don't miss, how they compare performance wise, both straight line and twisties and so on.
Pros/cons, driveability, comfort, options etc.
I am on my second E55, sold the first one and regretted it so I bought another. However, I've wanted a C63 since they came out. I have a pregnant wife and son (second son on the way), so sedan is a must.
I plan to go to the dealer and test drive a few C63s (once this damn snow winter goes away and we get some warm temps) to see how they are and feel. I am not a big guy, so the smaller interior is fine; sometimes, I think the E55 interior is too large for me - I am 5'7, 170ish.
I would specifically like to hear from those that have made the jump, if you have a family and how car seats are in the car, things of that sort.

straight line E55 > C63 but c63 is still very fast.
Twisties C63 > e55 cant even compare ... c63 is a race car. (rev match down shifts ...amazing)
the seats are smaller in the c-class obviously but its not bad and the car is actually bigger than it seems. (the front seats reminds me of CLK black series)
and did I mention the sound ? ... the sound the sound the sound the sound ....
the thunderous roar of the c63....

^^^ Owning a W211 and C204 this seems spot on. OP - have you considered an E63 or E63 wagon. A little extra room might come in handy with two growing boys, and you still have the melodic 6.3 to sing them a lullaby.

I just recently went from an E55 to a C63.
Speed wise, I honestly could not tell a difference between one or the other. They are both very quick, especially on top end.
The C63 feels a lot better on the corners...it clearly outperforms the bigger, heavier E55.
They are both very comfortable cars, but the E55 gives you more of a sense of being in a luxury vehicle...the C63 feels more sporty.
The biggest difference for me was the feel...the E55 felt heavy (I mean, I know it is, but it felt it). The GT-R I used to own was heavy too...but did not feel it - makes sense?
