c63 Coupe Pano Roof Retrofit
Hello guys I have a US spec 2012 c63 coupe and recently had some damage from falling debris on my coupe that cracked my pano roof glass. Ive always hated the fact that all us coupes came with the heavy pano roof with no option to delete it. I know in europe and other parts of the world you can get the car with the steel roof and this is the perfect opportunity to change it ! I was able to talk to my body shop and we located a steel roof from europe that we will have sent over to retrofit. The only problem we ran into was the different headliner of the non pano roof. We are trying to locate the headliner from mercedes benz but are having trouble finding it. If anyone around the world has a coupe without the roof and provide me a VIN number i would GREATLY appreciate it. We will only use it to search for part numbers and will order it separately with no connection to the VIN. Please PM me if you have this information handy ! THANKS !!!

Will the VIN from a C204 C Coupe (Non AMG model) suffice?

Black headliner. No sunroof/ no pano
Or you need an C63 AMG C204 VIN?

The non AMG vin will work since the roofs are the same only the hood/fenders are different ! Thanks a million your a life saver ! I was going nuts trying to find one on eBay the only cars I could find were on eBay.uk and for some reason they were the only country to not list VINS with the car. Will update the thread as the work gets done thanks again !!!

Hahahahaha that's hideous !!! I was thinking more along the lines of Gucci G's plastered all over ! My other option was going for a custom alcantara headliner but I don't know many good interior shops by me.

Do a cf roof conversion. I still plan on doing one to my C BS just never get around to pulling the trigger. I did a cf roof conversion on my CLK BS and it turned out beautiful. The labor is the big ticket item, the cost of the CF over steel is minimal in the grand scheme of things.

I've always wanted to change the little screen material on the pano to a suede so that when it's closed it actually blocks all the light. With my tints, there is so much more light that comes into the cabin

^^^^^^ YES!! I've wanted to do this as well. Haven't ventured to my local custom shop to see if it is possible or cost. Also thought about weaving black thread into the existing mesh material to decrease light trasnmission. I hate that damn transparent screen; it might be my biggest gripe.

There is a much simpler and cheaper solution to the "too much light gets through my glass roof" problem. It's called window tint.

Bringing this back from the dead to see if i can any replies... .
Was anyone able to successfully swap our their pano roof for a standard steel one (and of course headliner)?
The pano creaking is getting on my nerves and I'd love to swap out 75lbs on the top of my car for something lighter.
Thanks,
Al
