F1 season is on!
So as the title says a new season has started.
Who here is a follower?
I'm a long time Lewis Hamilton fan so when he switched to Mercedes AMG I was happy .
This year we have new rules/regulation which means new cars and new engine! With this era of fuel economy we have the introduction of twin turbos. Last time they did this in F1 was 26 years ago. What a disappointment in terms of sound! I was watching the qualifying sessions last night and I'm not used to it yet!! The cars sound way lower and all that whistling is disturbing.
And that is the whole point of this thread. Is it how twin turbo cars sound? I'm definitely looking forward to ear the new W205 C63 and a bit worry about the outcome

Long time follower, since early 1994 don't think I missed a race, lol, going to Montreal gp in june. I always enjoy when Mercedes is doing well ofcourse, the sound this year is a little disappointing but what can you do, I do think the racing will be better with the turbo's more tq so more driver error, I guess we will see tonite, lol

Nice to see Rosberg win, Mercedes showed good signs with all the Merc powered teams doing well, too bad what happened with Hamilton but i'm sure they will bounce back next race, reliability will improve over the course off the next few races that's for sure.

What surprised me was redbull/ricciardo
Redbull had terrible pre-season testing as far as reliabilty and speed yet he finished second
It's safe to say vettel is better than ricciardo so once he has a healthy car he will be in the mix again
Edit: saw that riccardio was dq'ed for fuel rate violations
RB contends sensor accuracy issues
Looking tough for ferrari

Yeah agood for merc AMG and customer cars
But boy misfiring cylinders for Lewis? Quite frankly i wasn't expecting that one. I was leaning toward an electric failure.
Anyhow I'm still not used to all that engine sounds and it felt like something was missing last night. I felt bored at some point but that is my personal opinion. Hopefully I'll change my mind next GP or if I manage to attend one in the flesh.

I love F1 and following the Merc AMG Petronas team. Pole for Lewis and a win for Nico. Too bad about Lewis' race day problem but hopefully these guys will battle it out for the WDC and win the Constructor's Championship. Also, good job by McLaren Mercedes after last year's debacle. Just beat Red Bull.

follow f1 since 2004(guess i'm new f1 fan here )
this year the sound of engine seems so different to last year's
and the apperance of the car......um....... still getting used it..........
anyway, guess Mercedes AMG will be a strong contender for WDC and WCC this year

the new spec engines definitely take some getting used to, but i can see the appeal, as the sounds it emits have a high tech feel (if that makes sense) versus the raw brute force of the old v8. also, i believe they are using a single turbo, not twin. great race today for rosberg and mercedes amg petronas!

I been a fan since I was a child, kind of had no option growing up overseas. Last GP at COTA decided to live chicago at 6 pm on Saturday, drive to Austin for 16hours. Watch the race and head back home. It was a crazy 40 hours of a trip but definitely worth it.
