question about a member's rear spoiler...

hey guys. i remember seeing a picture of a rear carbon spoiler on here, maybe a month ago. it was on a white c63, it was a mode carbon type spoiler, and it was partially painted. i think the top and bottom were painted and the edges where left carbon, but not sure. i liked the look, and can't find it for the life of me. do any of you guys know what im talking about? im wanting to do something similar to mine.

thanks.

yeah, man, that's the one! your searching skills are better than mine. thanks a lot! wondering if it's worth the work painting mine like that, though. I have a steel grey car, and I don't know if the color contrast would be enough.

I don't think the contrast would be at "brilliant"

This IMO would only work on say White, Yellow, Red, etc

I also has a fading paint on my BOCA (same as Mode) spoiler, love the look. Ppl always likes to stare at it or wants to touch it wherever I park LOL

yeah, I remember. looks excellent, from what i recall. would you mind sending me some pics, or directing me to some on the forum? I like the mode/boca spoiler, but come to think of it, it doesn't have a flat trailing edge like the vsteiner style above, so painting the top and bottom solid wouldn't even leave enough exposed cf...

I actually just purchased that Vorsteiner trunk spoiler for my C63. It is a complete trunk replacement and comes in carbon fiber (whole thing). It is in the mail, so I don't know yet exactly how much work needs to be done to get it looking like the one in the photo. Mine is white as well, so it should look okay. Good luck Op in whatever you go with!!

yeah, I know from the original thread that it's the whole trunk. I'm only looking to replace the spoiler. let us know how yours works out! I think the piece looks great.

I think I'm gonna get the mode carbon and paint the top surface steel grey to match the body and leave the sides and bottom cf to match the cf diffuser.

That would look great maximus... looking up top, you would see a 1 tone trunk/ trunk spoiler. But for cars behind you, they will see a CF trunk spoiler... that should be a nice visual effect! Props for trying smth new & stand out the crowd.

thx for the input, meng. yeah, just trying to make the cf spoiler look a little more integrated versus just stuck on. of course I love that vsteiner rear deck lid/spoiler, but I'm not up for the cost of that one.

Haha you are spared. The Vorsteiner only fits the coupe. They have nothing for the PFL/Pre-LCI.
