help with h&r springs

I am getting h&r springs installed next week and ordered the 17mm spacers for the rear from dealer, im also putting on 19" niche targa's with rear size 265-30-19 , is this going to rub or should I be okay with just the 17mm spacers in the rear? any input be greatly appreciated!

What width and offset are the rear wheels? That will tell the tale.

You should be good even with the full drop.

thx was just making sure, I get all paranoid when reading some people's horror stories about lowering, it is probably best to put the 17mm pads in the rear so that the rear doesn't look lower then the front right?

Yes, put them in to suit your taste in the looks of the drop. They will not be needed for tire clearance.

So I decided to tackle the H&R spring job on my own, took me about 6,5 hrs to do the front and another 2 hours to do the rear end( could maybe be done faster but I didn't want to rush it), a very rewarding job tho, handling is improved and looks way better, specially now that I also installed my summer wheel and tire package, will post some pics of the end result, car is pretty dirty it still snowed here again today, luckily not much tho!

Congrats on the install. I just did my KW V3 this past week end coming from H&R springs.
I still find the rear painful to install with that one torx bolt near the exhaust. I do the front quicker than the rear for some reason

I did the fronts at home in my own garage, but for the rear i went to my buddy tire shop, we put the car on the hoist for the rear and it still took me 2 hrs or so, just took my time to do it properly. buddy wasn't much help, he goes: i don't wanna break anything, lol

Congrats on doing the H&R springs yourself. The car looks great with the drop and the niche wheels.

I was barely rubbing with my 275 PSS on H&R springs so 265 is safe.

Off topic...but I've been trying to figure out what all the measurements mean related to tires/wheels and spacers. What do the 17mm spacers really do? My understanding is they just go on before you place the wheel, but you may end up needing new lug nuts?

I'm considering getting the Carlsson springs, so would I need a spacer with the stock 507 forged wheels? Is it to prevent rubbing, or just for looks?

Thanks for any guidance, I'm trying to learn to be more mechanical.

Let's not mistaken 17mm spacers & 17mm spring pads.

Spacers are to push the wheels out to make it flush. Mostly cosmetic mod.

Spring pad is to raise the rear of the car a bit. Cosmetic & a bit functional as it helps reduce rubbing if u run aggressive tires.

As for ur 507 wheels. They will be fine with or w/o the 17mm pads. U will not rub even lowered, u can even add 10mm spacers to make it flush w/o rubbing.

Thanks, Roswell. Next set of rears will probably be 265's and since I'm a function over form type of guy, I probably won't be too worried about the spacers.

What tools do you need to do it yourself and how hard was it? I have access to a lift.

some bolts are pretty tight, you need torque wrench / spring compressors ( usually you can rent these at autozone or other car parts store )

like this one.
you also need torx e-socket set for the torx bolts.
air impact with compressor makes it a lot easier as well,
search for the diy it will show you most stuff you need I think.
it's also good to wear mechanic gloves, and wd40 lube for the bolts.

if you have two people it will be easier, just some of my bolts were pretty tight, that made it a bit of a pain, other then that, just take your time and double check everything twice.

I used the 17mm spring pads in the rear to lift the rear so that you get a more even look when lowering with h&r springs.
