Looking at a 2010 C63, good price?
Hi guys,
Always loved the C63 and I think I found one that I like. It's a 2010 white with 29k miles. I've been trying to see if it has a pp but I cannot tell from the photos. It has red front calipers but doesn't have a Alcantara wheel nor CF interior. It looks to be vinyl.

They're asking $41.5k. Is that a good deal?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Are the brakes and steering wheel sure giveaways of the PP? I did a search but had trouble finding info.

I have a 2009 pp, but iirc, the 2010 pp has red calipers and alcantara steering wheel inserts. given the amount of little customization mods on the car you posted, I'd be willing to bet that this is not a pp and previous owner had the calipers painted red.

I think you can find 09's for $30k if patient, so factor in one year newer on 2010s and you should do ok. Most importantly, make sure you're getting a clean car as you can easily spend $5k+ fixing something and dealing with the hassle...and ruin the joy of getting a new toy.

there are many sellers out there who are unrealistic about "used cars." 2009 C63s are now 5-6 yrs old and mostly out of warranty, and even at $30k, it's still close to 50% of MSRP. many people will check out less returns for 2010 and 2011 and see that for $35k range, there's a ceiling - ie. it will not sell for MORE than E63s(which sold for $30k more when new). bottom line, patience will pay off on depreciating assets. unless it's a 20+ yr old classic, car prices go in one direction - down.

the bid/ask spread on these cars are HUGE(MB dealers bidding sub-$25k).
therefore, when i said you can buy a car for $30k, that doesn't mean you'll find people "asking" $30k for their cars - they're asking for MUCH more. however, the reality is that if you're patient and hold your bid at $30k, the supply is there and the pricing trend is in your favor, esp in light of the number of E63 for sale coming down toward $30k(that take away some potential C63 buyers).

Jeep Grand Cherokee
I will admit that it's a low mileage example but that is too much for that car. I'd think you're more $34k-$37k on it.

for that kinda money you should look for a mint real PP.

Thanks for all the help guys! I have been having trouble finding a decent C63 for a good price. Most are 2009-2010's with above 50k miles and $40-43k so I may just have to wait longer hehe. I want a newer model terribly, however I feel I'd get a better deal getting a gently used one and modding it.

Do not walk, RUN from this car. It looks like you have ruled it out. If that is so, great decision. This is a Franken-car.
