Hey guys, just got a pair of carbon fiber mirror caps. I didn't even realize how cheap some are and how pricey they can get. Anybody have experience with cheap ones or super expensive ones? BIG Differences? How do they fit/look?

I have them on my CLS63, they were a MB option ($5350) for the mirrors, rear fin and diffuser. Mirrors and fin are fine, but the clear coat on the diff is starting to peal in spots.
I think they look great, and I'm waiting on new stock for my CG front lip.

The main difference between the Cheaper (Overlay type) caps and the expensive (full replacement caps), are the cheap ones just stick onto of your existing mirror caps, while the more expensive ones are a full cover replacement.

My personal experience, I purchased a set of caps without thinking about it. Got the overlay type, probably won't install them on the car. When stuck on it looks ok, but you can tell its an overlay when up close.

I will be in the market for a full replacement setup soon. It just looks better IMHO.

Look up Matt, he can hook you up with a nice set of replacement caps.

I ended up ordering the overlay ones off ebay without thinking too much about it and they are still sitting there after several months. I might eventually install them I guess, but the full replacement is well over $1K, which I just can't justify for a part like that.

I paid roughly $750 for the OEM ones when I purchased the car, but didn't end up getting them for some reason..

Dealer told me they were "out of stock"... More like they forgot.

Gonna go follow up on it next weekend, although I highly doubt I would be able to get them now more than a year later. Probably just gonna bury me in paperwork for them.

Be nice if someone could post up some pictures of the overlay ones on the car
