Gadget's new 2012 C63 - Dyno Mode??

Got a great deal on a left over new 2012 C63 AMG Coupe. Had just about everything I was interested in, Development Package, LSD, lighting upgrade. Has the two trim leather.

The only real things I would of liked, not sure if it is even available in the C63 is the RADAR Cruise control, and the cool air seat blowers. Wonder if the RADAR cruise can be retrofitted??

Anyway, I was reading a magazine article and it said the car has a launch control function. I thumbed through the owner's manual and cannot find any reference to such a thing. Does that exist? If so how is it activated and used?

If not, what is the correct way to launch the car? Not sure if power breaking is proper on a car without a torque converter.

I am about to complete the 1000 mile break in and want to get it on the dyno for a base line. What is the procedure for putting it into and out of dyno mode? Looked and cannot find a reference in the forum for this car. I am sure it is here, just did not find it.

Thanks!

EDIT- What a goof, my car is a 2013, not a 2012.....

Congrats on a beautiful car.

RADAR cruise control wasn't available on the 2012s. Available on the newer models and while I believe it can be retrofitted its $$$$$$. Cool air seat blowers are also a NOPE.

As for the launch control, look at your knob that says C, S, S+ and M. Below that is and RS on that knob. To activate, make sure you are on a level surface and the car is completely stopped. Hit the traction control once to put it into SPORT mode (not off). Depress the brake very very firmly and hold. Turn the knob to RS, you'll get a confirmation on the tach screen saying "paddle up to confirm launch". Hit the right paddle, mash the gas, release the brake and vroooooom

Dyno mode is found in the engineering menu in the MFD. It's the same place where you reset the service counter. If you haven't been there, turn the key to position one. Make sure the MFD is showing the default screen with odometer readings. Press the telephone answer button on the steering wheel, then while holding it down, immediately press the OK button and hold it down too. After a few seconds, the additional menu will appear. If it doesn't, try the button presses again. The proper trigger is basically pressing both buttons at the same time, but the phone button first by a tiny bit. Once you get the timing down it will be easy to repeat.

Thanks!!

I gave the launch control a try. Very nice!!

How durable is this? Is it one of those very cool things, but you better not use it like the GT-R?

If you plan to keep it stock, it will be fine. If you plan to mod, you might be getting new clutch packs sooner or later.

The gtr thing is no longer a problem. First version of its launch control called lc1 was too aggressive for the mechanics of it and there were a maximum number you could use it. Current version is corrected for that.

When in doubt try the following:
^^ vv <><> ababa select start
If that doesn't do it try 007 373 5963, that's bound to do something.
Just playing man beautiful car.

Congrats on the car!! Looks awesome!!

Do you really need to use the dyno mode? Couldn't you just disable traction control and run the dyno?

Yes turn the ESP off (supposed to disable it completely) and put in M4 if you want to run to redline or M5 if you don't mind the speed control cutting your run off early (unless the speed limiter is raised or removed).

ESP Off still leaves certain traction control programs in place (check the manual). Dyno mode completely disables ESP, ABS and brake proportioning. That's why the car still has dyno mode.
