newbie questions

Hi all,

I saw the sticky on headers and I was wondering: Are any of them CARB approved for the 2013 C63? California is very strict on the smog stuff so I would like to keep it as legal as possible. If so is there one that bolts up to the existing exhaust so that mods are not necessary? I have the P31 package but I don't think this makes a difference am I correct? By the way, I only have about 510 miles on the car which brings me to another question: On a couple of occasions I have taken it to about 90 mph and on one, over 100 due to some d***s not letting me on the freeway. Does anyone think this will hurt the break in period?
Sorry for the questions but I am totally new to the C63 having come from a Lexus ISF.

There are no CARB approved headers I know of. To install headers you need to remove or move your cats and neither option is legal. There are log manifolds but I would not bother as they give you very little and mess with your warranty.

Your break in should be fine. I doubt you were over 4500rpm. You should avoid hard kick-downs for the sake of the trans. The break in is mostly for the transmission as the engine is run in at the plant.

Congrats on the C63 and enjoy.

Hey thanks Mort! So by kick-down do you mean kick-down and then accelerating really hard or just down shifting? Sorry, I just don't want any issues if something should arise that can be traced to improper break-in.

The kickdown button that the break in period instructions refer to, is the button beneath the gas pedal. Which is now my favorite button... in the world!
