Took my car to the dealer. Paid diagnostic fee and now I am told there is no update for my car and that the transmission is up to date? I have a 7G

Has anyone else been able to confirm what this update is and how you request it at the dealer? As we all know, going to the dealer and saying "hey i think there is an update for.." will result in them looking at you dumbfounded saying "nah, you're all good!"\
BTW, I think clearly the OP has said a number of times this is for facelift/MCT not the 7G.

That's not what S+ is. In the MCT its another mode separate from S.
What you described can be done in C, S or S+, its just a gear selection.
Excited if this is for the 2012+ as many have said its really jerky from 1 to 3. Would love to know exactly what to ask the dealer for as its almost time for an oil change and would love to have them have this ready so I don't waste more time.

So what your saying is S+ In the MCT doesn't hold the gear until red line? I know for sure if I pull on the downshift selector in C mode that it does not hold my gear until red line. Mine behaves like this.... C of course starts in second and is very mild mannered, S is more aggressive but will not hold the gear, now when I downshift in S mode while driving it will go to an S+ which will hold the selected gear until red line, and of course manual. I can also do this in the up shift as well. Start my car in sport, shift up to let's say 3rd...while driving it will be aggressive until 3rd, but once it hits 3rd it will hold the gear until redline. it's pretty cool actually

That means the dealer can't charge MB USA for the work and it wont show up in your service history ?

I can confirm 100% that this is also for the pre-facelift. I had it done on my 2010 weeks ago. Posted a thread about it too.

I asked my friend (shop Forman) and he didn't see an update for my car (no bulletin). He also mentioned that it can take months for an update to get to the dealers from the assembly line. So if this update was released to the dealer in April the update could have already been done on cars built late last year.
Just ask them to check, should be no charge to check or do the update if it applies to your car.

I'll check my 2010 to see if theres any updates next week. I doubt there is for the regular torque converter cars - i did mine about a year ago so we'll see. I wont be able to verifiy for the mct's as i dont have one and i dont know of any that were updated recently. Usually when cars are still in production a new update comes out every couple months and unless there's a bulletin they dont tell anyone what the changes do. Also keep mind guys all the transmissions are 7g's. The difference in the mct and regular is the no torque converter but the multi clutch (wetclutch). The wetclutch cars are very sensitive to the engine fuel adaptations values. typically if off over 2% they can be jerkier than normal. Be realistic with the expectations though it's not a torque converter so it'll never be smooth like one. The wet clutch will always be sort of jerky, just like any one driving a manual transmission in a parking lot. typically a software update alone to the transmission wont reset the transmission adaptation values, but depending on how it was done and who did it. it could have been. There is also a wetclutch teachin - where it recalibrates the kiss point which can really help jerkiness.

+1 - Invoice? Have service soon and, if true, would like to upgrade.
I have a horrible mis-shift from 1st to 2nd ONLY flooring it from a stop in S mode (favorite traffic merge spot). It happens maybe 25% of the time.
I fear taking it to the shop a giving license to the mechanics to floor it all day long... Is it worth getting this fixed? Should I just ask to reflash MCU and TCU?
Thx.

I called 2 dealers and gave them my VIN
No update
Last one for the tranny was 2012
They also said it would be on the invoice with a code
Its how it is logged to the cars records and invoiced to MB USA
I might try one more in person

I have a 2014, and there is definitely an software update for the tranny. I'm having it done in the morning. A friend of mine is the head tech at Delray mercedes, and he was aware of it. I have a Renntech tune in the car, and I've already spoke with them as there is a good chance when Mercedes does the upgrade my tune might get "erased". Renntech will gladly reflash my car if it gets deleted. I'm looking forward to see the effects of the transmission update. I'll post my results tomorrow.

It's that simple
For my 2009 VIN there apparently is none outstanding
At least according to MB of Morgantown WV and Washington PA
the old one from 2012 was done when mine was CPO'ed
You are having it done on a Sunday?

I will ask for a "campaign code" when I'm there. Delray Mercedes is open on Sundays for "minor" work. It's new rear tire time, and they are doing the mounting and balancing for me. My tech said while it's there they'll do the update for me. We shall see....

Also, for those that have a X-Pipe and miss the AMG thump I highly recommend the H-pipe down by the resonators instead. Insane - I'm going to upload a video of the installation complete with running the car with no exhausts

Let me know if you lost the tune as I should go back for mine if that's the case!

2011 C63
Took my car in for service last week and complained about hard 2-3 shifts.
I have a 2011 preface lift C63. Non mct trans. My invoice states "performed transmission adaptation 2-3 up shift"
Hope this helps.

thanks, but not new software, they just cleared the 'learned' values and reinitialized them
it can be done for each upshift (1-2, 2-3, etc.), downshift (7-6, 6-5, etc.), park to reverse, park to drive/1st
they only did 1 upshift
