If you guys are so curious about this one of you should sign up with epc.startekinfo.com. For a little money you'll have access to all mb documents to the dealers related to tsbs and other bulletins, recalls, etc. no guesswork is needed.

Or sign up for alldatadiy, its much cheaper, and has the same data for the most part (might be a little behind time wise).
I hate to break it to you.. but "little" is relative.. That is in no way little.. rather it is quite expensive. (I have no affiliation with alldatadiy, just a user)

Only sort of. There is a well documented procedure for removing some adaptations:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ssion-ecu.html
And many people have found it to provide a noticeable, if temporary, change.
That said, it's not the adaptation procedure that the dealer can do with DAS, which resets more fundamental parameters of shift member (clutches and brakes) operation. That is very time-consuming to do for all up and down shifts, and requires driving at just the right RPM and torque load (monitored via DAS) before shifting. Each shift, up and down, must be done 3 or four times and requires one tech to watch the monitor and say "now" to the second, who is driving and executes the shift.
It's normally done when the transmission has been replaced, and only then. Or if one shift is rough, they'll do it for that one shift on warranty. Think of that process as setting the "defaults" for shift member operation that the gas-pedal reset will reset to.
Information on the dealer adaptation reset can be found here:

It's a myth that the gas-pedal reset is the same thing.

I got an email from MB USA stating there are no Tsb's or open campaigns
They stated when a customer claims shifting issues adaptation reset is the first step
Many have said they had it done
But not a single code posted
3 dealers have said no upgrade
MB USA says no upgrade

I have a 2014, and there is definitely an software update for the tranny. I'm having it done in the morning. A friend of mine is the head tech at Delray mercedes, and he was aware of it. I have a Renntech tune in the car, and I've already spoke with them as there is a good chance when Mercedes does the upgrade my tune might get "erased". Renntech will gladly reflash my car if it gets deleted. I'm looking forward to see the effects of the transmission update. I'll post my results tomorrow.

sorry guys, amg master tech is a friend, so i did not see an invoice (cc on file). i went in for an out of pocket oil change (between scheduled maintenance services). i asked him to plug it in and see if there are any updates.
he was very specific that there was a software update for the tansmission, and this was not about clearing adaptation.

you can't call a dealer and ask them if there is an update it doesn't work that way.

not true
MB USA would know if there are any updates for a C63 transmission
there are none
but if there were if you give them the vin they can tell you if it applies to your vehicle
it has to be programmed into a data base before the ecu can query for it
several said they had it done
not one has a code, even the guy who is personal friend with the master tech
I'm going with the master training tech at MB USA, he says there are none, last was 2011
how would I get this?

That is not quite correct, there are I believe 2 different transmission updates, but those are not new, and mostly affect 08 and 09 models, and were only pushed out to the customer if there was a specific issue. I took my car in for warranty work because of hard shifts, and on 2 occasions when from a stop, I hit the gas and the damn thing just hit redline, no gear engagement... Scared the crap out of me as I was trying to turn left both times.
They reset the adaptions and did an update, again, this was in 2010/2011 (was sometime during the winter, I forget the exact date). I do not believe there is anything new for our transmissions though.

took mine to the dealer (Morgantown WV)
they hooked it up while I waited
no transmission updates
asked the service manager for a printout of all TCU updates for C63's
the most recent was 2011
(well there was a few others, but they were only valid if components were changed)
I asked if there was a delay in getting them, they said no, everyone gets them at the same time via the service network

nope, that should be released starting in august/september in stages so all affected cars dont whipe out the supplies the first month. They havent released what the official repair is going to be yet either. Only that it's coming. Maybe we'll all get lucky and upgraded to led taillamps? the older 170's all got new taillamps you never know.

I asked my dealer - him and I are homies. He ran my VIN on the 507 and he said there is no updates available for my car. Sucks cause there's nothing cooler than a free factory performance upgrade.

Running into the same thing here. Car is scheduled for maintenance soon so my dealer called me to schedule the appointment. I asked them to look into any transmission software updates for my car. My service adviser calls me back later and tells me that there are currently no updates.

If there are no updates (and apparently there are none) what are the people claiming the miraculous transformation going on about?
Such as the title of tjis thread?
New transmission software = OMG

I'm getting a Quaife LSD installed in the next week or so, and if I can get it done at the same place where they did my service and TCU I'll ask to speak to the mechanic who worked on my car.
Just a random thought, could it be related to me being in NZ and many of you guys going through MB USA? I'd have thought the software updates would come straight out of Germany though...

lol. placebo affect. There has never been any night and day transmission update. the sls one is pretty decent on the older models but is still no where as good as the sls gt but only in manual mode where you tap the paddle down 3 gears and it actually drops 3 gears (with in a safe rpm range obviously). Resetting the adaptations also makes a big difference as most people want fast hard shifts but ***** foot around town all day long which makes them shift slow and soft. Maybe the eurocharged version turbo 9000 flash will be the end all and make your transmission f1 status too.
