Space saving subwoofer install- PICS

Just thought i would share.
Had this in the car for a while now, but never uploaded pics.

Installed this myself a couple of months back.
VERY EASY for the DIY Person.

All i did was remove the factory SubWoofer, and use those wires (4 of them, as the Factory Subwoofer is Dual Voice Coil), and plugged those directly into my own Amp (that had speaker level inputs)
If your own Amp doesnt have speaker level inputs, just use a Line Out Converter. (of which i actually have a Brand New In the packet one if anyone wants it, just cover postage- Its a Scosche LOC-80 Model)

Anyway, i concealed the Amp in where the Factory Subwoofer was, and ran the cables to the sub box.

Got the power from Battery in the boot, dont need a remote lead, as the AMP i bought senses signal from the speaker level inputs, and turns the amp on & off. Ground i got from the boot also.

Took me a while, but i found a sub box, that fits PERFECTLY, in the boot, so that i can still use the rear wagon cover, and also access the spare wheel when i need, without having to remove the sub. Though to remove it, is very easy, just 2 cables going into the sub box.

The box is pretty light (made of MDF), and the sub is 12"
Needless to say, much better bass than the factory. Wasnt looking to break records.

Sub i had from my old car. Box cost $80 new. Amp wiring kit was $30. Amp was $100 (Kenwood KAC-8105D D Class).
Sub is DVC Clarion 500W RMS. Amp is 500W RMS.

We did the same for my friends sedan. Same Box, different Amp & Sub. But it fits great in the boot. I will post pics of that later this week FYI.

Anyway, any questions, feel free to ask.
