Taking car on vacation
Has anyone taken their car on vacation overseas? Wondering what the costs are but i'm having a hard time finding a place to get a quote. Looking to ship either to Kosovo or Germany. I plan on taking it back so if anyone can help it will be great!

Just make sure you get bullet-proof insurance. Car theft can be a major problem in eastern Europe. Hertz wouldn't let me drive their car from Austria to Prague without special theft insurance and confirmed reservations for a hotel that had a garage where the rear axle was chained to the wall every night!

You may also want to consider fuel quality and/or suppliers for that area of Europe, if you plan on driving around there for very long.

Drive it to the Nurburgring and max it on the Autobahn !
Also you might get cheaper quotes if you ship from and to a main port, like Rotterdam.
I've heard RORO (roll in, roll out, when you drive the car directly into the boat) can be cheaper too. I was looking into doing a road trip in europe with my previous car, so I asked a lot of quotes around.
Make sure you don't have to pay destination charges (handling, unloading, customs), reading back my quotes some were adding around 500 euros just for destinations charges.
Two years ago I was quoted 850$ RORO shipping from Baltimore to Amsterdam for example, with Seabridge.
Schumacher Cargo Logistics quoted me 1000$ from New York to Rotterdam. Etc etc.
Also, make sure you read reviews online, I remember some carriers had pretty bad service.

Can you explain me why shipping your car?
Is it much cheaper than renting a high end car?
Which car insurance will cover you other there since you don't have the Euro specs?
I don't know but it seems too much hassle for just a short time period

Last time I was there, it cost 50 Euros a day to rent a 2006 bmw 328i. So i'm sure a car like a c63 if they even had would come close to 100 Euros a day!
