I'm about to pull the trigger on possibly the only Edition 507 sedan where I live. Coming from driving an '02 E55 (love it but it's time to move on), I'm quite excited to get my hands on this pocket rocket that is the C63 - all the more, the last of the N/A!

A bit cold feet on it since I feel that it will look old quickly as soon as the new C-Class arrives but the thought of not being able to own the venerable M156 engine kind of gives me the strength to take the plunge.

The only downside is, it is fitted with the ordinary 18" AMG wheels for the standard C63 (deal breaker??). The dealer told me that this is Mercedes' policy since I live in a country with bad roads.

I wouldn't say it's a deal breaker but kinda dampens the total package. They are offering it at a good price though.

What are your thoughts on these, dear experts? Given that I won't get the 507 wheels, the car looks "tamer". Here is a pic:

Easy enough to change wheels. I wouldn't let that stop me!

Those 507 wheels are worth a lot of money, so the price for this car should be lower.
Also it's an outdated car since it's being replaced by a new model.

I personally would not buy a W204 now but it's up to you

Thats one beautiful car. I would question them further on those wheels. I bet they swapped them on another car. Check the window sticker to see if it really shipped with the 507 wheels.

I went to their warehouse and the 2 other 507 coupes there also have the same stock wheels. I believe the price is justified sans the 507 wheels. Does it look like a half-baked 507 w/o it? I don't intend to change the wheels soon if I do purchase it.

Well, lots of C class owners would love to buy your wheels and new tires. You could order a set of 507 or the 19 multispokes.

I have the same wheels as in the pictures. One thing I really don't mind about the 18's are the much cheaper cost to replace tires. 18s to 19s are a big jump in price and these cars can eat through tires quickly.

Better rim protection
Cheaper tires
Possibly a bit less handling due to taller sidewall, eg more sidewall flex

Remove the stripes, add some spacers, and that is close to my perfect C63

Make sure you get a nice fat discount for those wheels. The 19's are worth a lot of money.
