So I got a quote from my guy for everything. He says he will need 6 v band connectors to make it like that and it will cost $550 in part with all high quality stainless steel and $300 in labour. At the cost of $850 this isn't exactly the 'cheap' exhaust mod to make the car louder I had in mind. So I have to think about it a bit more I guess.

Exactly. Especially when I am not 100% sold on wanting to meddle with the original great quality exhaust system of this car you know. The biggest reason I was considering this was cause of the new cf diffuser I got. The way it fits, it makes my tips hide under it and they look way more recessed. So I was thinking of having those extended to fit a little outside of the diffuser. That will only cost $100 to do but even that they would have to cut the tips out and extend the pipe so don't know if I want to mess with that.

But at $850 it doesn't seem like worth it at all with no performance gains and only just a bit louder. I rather just have the tips extended but I doubt I wanna cut up my system just for that. Might just be better throwing away the $300 diffuser from ebay and ordering a decent one. Shouldn't have gone ebay route and left a positive remark before checking it out completely. The seller now has no incentive to help which is what they say. His response was to make our diffuser fit you have to modify your exhausts and make them lower a bit...like wtf.

Brother $300! For 1 cut and a weld?!!
Wow
Get another quote or let me know I'll get you a clamp.
Make 1 cut and bolt on the clamp. Not ideal tho..

The most you should pay is 120-150.

I am guessing he is including the labour of bending pipes, making h pipe, 6 vband connectors or whatever else they are.....i don't know I am way too confused by all this.

I didn't even want to mess with the exhaust initially and the only reason I started contemplating it was due to this....the way it looks right now after the installation of my new diffuser;

makes mike's power pipe even more worthwhile!! he's done the hard yards, has the right bends and the right clamps and is tried and tested by countless people on here.

My brother , you don't need 6 Vbands. Please research what they are doing because it's not making any sense.

The guys online from all over the globe can vouch you only need 1 vband and a cut.

I have no clue what they are trying to do but do yourself a favor and look into it.

You can pM me if you need any help buying my pipe or not I'm a car guy and I love to help out

If I just look into replacing the resonator with straight pipes, what sort of impact would that make on the cars sound and performance?

I have no idea Mike that's what the guy told me. Unfortunately I have no technical knowledge like rest of the guys here to counter or argue with what he is saying. Perhaps you can explain to me as to what exactly they need to be making cause maybe they are confused too? Whatever it is there is no way I would pay $850 for cutting and hacking my exhaust.

None for now
I would keep the growl of the C63. Since everyone is saying the X-pipe takes out the growl, I wouldn't do it. I'd do the 2nd cat delete first and go from there. Just my $0.02.

EBay seller I have to check his name. I guess you get what you pay for. I am just gonna have to live with it for now cause after install and stuff I dropped 400 on it and just don't wanna throw that away. Going to get a front cf lip and see if completing the issue cf look makes me like the diffuser a bit more.

Hmm. I'm not sure exactly how far off that diffuser really is. As the car warms up the tips will stick out a bit more.. (heh)..

Let me think on this a bit more but I don't feel like the diffuser is THAT bad.

Haha okay maybe I am exaggerating it isn't THAT bad...I guess it just didn't look like what I had originally anticipated and that kinda bothers me. The guy fabricated a new bracket to install and had to put screws on the edges I believe from what he said. The fitment isn't that great if you look at it from far you see space between where the tabs of the diffuser are in the car and top part of the bumper.

For those of you with sec cat delete, is it a basic cut and weld or is there more work involved.
My shop didnt use any clamps or o2 extenders

well, to further entice you... here are a few clips of my car with just secondary cat delete, straight pipe. Stock resonator, stock muffler, stock air filter, charcoal delete.

So you just deleted your secondary cat and replaced it with a straight pipe?

I wish I could hear that and stock exhaust side by side to get the idea of the difference.
