Performance Mods (that do not effect the warranty)
New to the forum and MB.
While anxiously waiting for my dealer to let me know when I can pick up my new 507 I'm reading all I can.
Are there any performance mods that won't void the warranty?
Thank you !

well... whatever you touch voids the warranty for that part.
so I would say ... you can get a tune and flash it back to stock before service.
that will get you a lot of hp already. hope this helps

If the car doesn't have an LSD (it's not standard but many come with one), it would be a big improvement but it would certainly affect the warranty. For one thing, your differential would no longer be covered by the factory warranty, simple or extended. (If you think you'll keep the car more than four years, consider a 1, 2 or 3-year extension when you buy the car.)
If the dealer wanted to be difficult, they could argue that future problems with rear half-axles or even the prop shaft and flex discs were caused by damage at the time the diff was swapped.
Don't get me wrong. The car needs an LSD. But this is a weird thread to be discussing it.

There are absolutely no performance mods that will not affect warranty in some way
A diff would be hard to detect
Driveline faults on this car are rare and I doubt if you had a bad cv joint they would open up the pumpkin to check
If it is that big of a concern have the dealer install an oem diff
But this would not be covered by the car's warranty either
It is covered by a seperate parts/labor warranty which is much shorter
And may void the base warranty if they pushed it
The wavetrac/quaife is a safe mod that yields big benefits
It's a perfect to discuss it since the thread is based on an impossible premise
ANY alterations to the car void parts of the warranty
If not discussed, there would be nothing to discuss and you wouldn't have the opportunity to internet stalk and harrass lol
It was for you lol
Instead of answering his query or offering any suggedtions you ridicule me
You are predictable lol
His diff would be covered
Just not in the car lol
The 2 mentioned both have very strong warranties
It's the safest and most beneficial mod you can do
It improves the safety of the vehicle
In the rain with lying water the car is barely drivable with anything less than 100% tread
And even then you better slow down to 55 or risk busting it up

none. about 50k miles. I had a noise under accel. they first replaced the flex discs, but it didn't fix the problem, so they replaced the entire driveshaft. ELW paid for it. I didn't ask how much it would cost out of pocket, but I replaced the driveshaft on the porsche for about $1500, so I'm thinking it's similar for the amg, if not more.

Tires. Good tires will help everywhere and not affect your warranty.

Must be oem size and spec: Li, speed rating. XL
Don't think they can hold you to a specific manufacturer
Would it be an issue? Highly unlikely
Could it be? Wheel bearings, suspension bushings, driveline stress
