Judging from this video or your experience, can you guys tell if the clear plastic can be separate from the silver back ground? The reason I ask this is because I want to wrap the silver in carbon fibre vinyl to give it a better racing visual look.

If anything my money is on being able to remove the silver rings around the gauges. You'd just have to make cuts for the indicators.

Are you worried at all that it would look a bit... tacky?

I have a bunch of wrap left and it wouldn't hurt to try it. The only thing I'm worried about is that unplugging that cable from the gauge. Would it be safe to unhook the battery first?
