Opinions on Tire Repair...
So I got a flat the other day -- pulled the wheel off to find this -- big nasty nail hole.
What is your opinion on repairing ultra high performance tires?
Just torn if I should just replace rather than repair.

I did the exact same thing 3 weeks ago, plug and patch works fine. Just make sure they actually pull the tire and patch from the inside, those plugs with rubber cement alone are worthless.

After internal patch possible switching of the tires with the opposite side will give you longer tire life. The pic shows some crazy camber wear and if you just put it back on you will be due for new tires in a few thousand miles when the cords start showing.

Since I see no feathering I will take a chance and say it is a back tire, if the car is lowered, you may want to look into reducing camber or if not and stock then a good 4 wheel alignment is required, 3000Km wear, that is rude.

I've plugged a number of tires like this one for street use. However for safety reasons, I would not recommend using a plugged tire on track. Some get past tech and do it....

if you look at the tire manufactuers associations instructions or the warranty that came with the tire
plug & patch will maintain ALL ratings for street use
track is a different authority having juristiction

TIRE REPAIRS
Repairs of all tires must be of the combined plug and inside patch type. Your
MICHELIN tires (including Michelin PAX System
TM tires) must be removed
from the wheel for inspection prior to repair. Plug-type repairs made
on a tire that remains mounted on a wheel are improper. A tire should
be removed from the rim and inspected prior to repair. Any tire repair
done without removing the tire from the rim is improper. An improperly
repaired tire may cause further damage to the tire by either leaking air or
allowing air, moisture and contaminants to enter the structure of the tire.
An improperly repaired tire can fail suddenly at a later date. Never repair a
tire with less than 2/32nds of an inch tread remaining. At this tread depth,
the tire is worn out and must be replaced.
