WTB: Gloss Black Badges / Emblems and...
Does anyone know where to buy (all) badges / emblems from one place to ensure quality and color are the same across the board?
I need the 6.3 fender badges, C63 trunk badge, AMG badge, and the Mercedes trunk emblem.
I am also interested to know if you can buy blacked out fog light rings...? Or are people dipping / painting those?
I bought 3m vinyl tape to do my window trim, and license plate area trim piece, is there anything I am missing...?
I am interested in used items if anyone is selling and are in mint condition, otherwise I will just buy new.

I am getting some paint work done soon (calipers are going copper with arched decal - see below), so I may ask while it is the shop to have them paint the fog light rings. Trouble is, that is a high impact area and it may chip there as well... Should see if my buddy can custom wrap them in clear paint protection vinyl once they are sprayed...
Obviously without the "Carbon Ceramic", but this is the color.

I am thinking once she is lowered on the H&Rs with some fat spacers and oem wheels, along with the "chrome delete", those calipers are going to pop!

The chrome looks so much better gone you will love it

positioning the new ones is always tricky unless you have the factory templates or dimensional drawings
so take good measurments BEFORE you remove them
Autosport7
do you have the H&R's on yet?
I would like to see the set-up in person

Only problem is I do not have new bolts if I need to cut them on the rear. I cant imagine I will need to though... Should be able to figure something out I would think.
As for the positioning of new emblems, it is always best to mask of critical points on the paint and measure from those. Or Mask the emblems off perfectly and just replace the emblems directly into the template you have made on the paint.

$75.00!
By a professional body shop. They will be removed and done right too. I guess it probably helps that one of my best friends is the Manager of the body shop...
Life lesson, there are many types of people you should try and keep close to you throughout your life, a dentist, a lawyer, an accountant, and a friggen body shop manager!

LOL.
Is your car a daily driver? Remove them, ship them to me and I will have yours done.
Pay the shipping both ways and all associated fees to have them painted and I will see what I kind of deal I can get for you. I guarantee it will be less than the $650, I see others quoting.
Hmmm I think I just came up with a side gig.....

LOL! You might get suspended as well ...
As for the badges plastidip is your cheapest solutions. You can go back to stock whenever you desire. The adhesive in the back can be replaced as well with some 3M double sided tap. That's what I did with mine when I re-plastidipped my emblems a couple months ago.

If you tried plastidip and you didn't like the look then I understand why you are looking for a extra set of badges. If I were to paint my badge I would save the OEM ones as well.

I asked my bodyshop if they would paint mine and they didn't want to because they were chrome, and positioning is a pain. Mine are wrapped and look OK so I didn't push them to do something they didn't want. I was thinking about getting some of the OEM badges that have been painted off ebay, then using painters tape to outline where the originals are, remove the chrome emblems, and put the new ones on using the tape as a guide.

You can buy a genuine set of badges on ebay for around $140 and then paint.
I have had excellent success with plastidip on other car badges. Prepsol to make sure no polish/wax and multiple light coats. Not peeling and regularly washed. Only issue is that it is flat rather than the gloss black you are looking for.

I have purchased all oem badges and will paint them.
I have also purchased 3m black trim vinyl tape and will be wrapping my trims myself.
Along with the Single Fin Gloss Black Grill I just purchased, I believe I will have completed the aesthetics mod process.
