2017 Toyota Supra FT-1 ....awesome or not? Article/Pics ....

It will be probably be a twin turbo V-6 with a hybrid electric motor....maybe AWD with DSG Transmission....toyota reliability with great gas mileage...what do you guys think?
If they go ***** to the wall and over 600 HP or 700 HP to compete with the upcoming Acura NSX then that would be great or they might stay downmarket and more around 500 HP and compete with lower end cars....who knows for sure....

I've heard that it will be low in power. 350-400. However, the idea is for it to weigh next to nothing.
Wayyyyyyy too soon to tell.

Damn, looks pretty menacing.
But this is just a concept for now correct?

All depends on hp and price, but I am digging the styling!!!
I have been waiting for the next gen to hit the streets, but for me to consider it, it will have to have an option of 500+ hp or I'm not interested.
If it has 500+ ponies and is priced right, I will prob own one.

^ Agree. Anything north of 500hp, with AWD and twin turbos? If it's priced right (<$100k), that will be THE platform to have for a long time.

Unless it is an under-performing car.

Exactly what I was thinking. Seems like Toyota is trying to replace the GTR. And to be honest although GTRs are extremely cheap for having super car status (kind of), they have gotten much more expensive then when they first came out.

Yeah they got expensive to a point where they do not sell much. Right now NISSAN has crazy deals (almost $20k off MSRP) on 2014 MY because they have been sitting in showrooms for more than a year!! Great bargain if you are in the market... I am... lol

Anything commanding $100k+ will be with Lexus brand. That is most likely the next Gen Lexus SC based on the LF-LC concept.

It looks really hot. I hope they can come up with a base model to make it profitable and then have a higher end version with 550hp + hybrid technology ala 918 version. I am in, where do I sign?

I don't think it will be 40k-60k
I'm guessing 70k-90k with the price climbing after a limited production release. People will line up for that and dealers will price above MSRP. That's my guess though.

toyota wont give it more than 500hp. 500hp is more than enough in a sub 3000lbs car. That interior is terrible though. They better not ruin this car with some gay prius parts.

This car is built to compete with the GTR, it will be north of $100k. The Lexus has a supercar (LFA) that is over $400k.
Not to mention the "notoriety tax" that will come along with the long awaited re-introduction of the Toyota Supra!!! This car will not stay in showrooms if it is priced right! I am betting $100-$120k!

That thing looks awesome in my opinion. It's unfortunate it will look nothing like that in production. If it does it will easily be north of $100k. Look at the price of a 4c and it has a tiny motor and interior fit and finish that will fall apart in your hands, but it's light and quick.

IF they actually build it and produce..................
I like it!! It depends on HP and torque, but the design is beautiful. Should make other manufactures step up and make a competitor. From all I've read, seems under powered for such a slick design. It has the potential to be a little rocket.
