Yes it will work but if you only replace the steering wheel then the buttons won't light up. You need to replace the steering column - part number A212 900 7702. Once you replace the steering column everything will work 100%.

It will as mentioned above. You need the E class steering column cover to get the button lit

Thanks for the replies, so does everything else work except the lights in the buttons, if I don't change the column, and is it the complete column or just the top cover with the electrical connections that need replacing

Just the plastic top cover. It is plug and play.

ok, so just to get this straight, when I search that part number it is the switch assy and clock spring a2129007702 is that what I need or is it just the clock spring that has all the connections, the round center section

Hi Guys, so I got my new 2013 performance pack wheel and air bag for my 2009 c63, bolted on fine, air bag fine,,,,,, none of buttons on the steering wheel work, no horn either, thought it might be a dud so I put it on my 2013 c63 and everything works,,,, so I guess I have to get the steering column switch assy, anybody else had this problem, I know a few said it is plug and play, not in my case

If you do the facelifted steering wheel you must buy the new airbag. Instead of buying the plastic airbag- you should opt for the nappa leather airbag from the R231 SL (same shape). And while you're at it, get the aluminum trim that says "AMG" on the bottom instead of "Airbag" that the C and E assemblies have.

These are the part numbers:

Airbag: 231 860 19 02
AMG Silver trim: 099 464 23 13

Did you change your top cover as well with the E class one?
That is what will make the buttons lit.

E500 estate
Column numbers:

- without cruise control, without Memory: A212 900 7703
- without c c, with Memory: A212 900 8103
- with c c, without Memory: A212 900 7502
- with c c, with Memory: A212 900 7702

All parts for sedan, not estate!
Estate has different parts cause of the back wiper.

Steering wheel:

There are two different kinds of steerig wheels.
One (Code 802) is working without the column, only no button lights.
The other need the column, otherwise the steering wheel will not work.
No button, no paddles, no lights, nothing!

So check your steering wheel and the right column number

Just reading the replies, it seems like a costly venture.

I'd rather put that money into a carbon fiber wheel.

E200 CDI - w212 - 2010
Recently I bought a new steering wheel for my E class W212.
I found a good deal for W264 steering wheel, it is the same for the 2014 facelift E class.
Part Number:
Steering wheel: A246 460 1503 9E38
Airbag:A246 860 2602 9E38

I didn't try to change the steering wheel for now, as I saw many people has a problem with light.
Now my question if I buy the steering wheel Column, do I need to just exchange them, or I need to recode with A star

hi again, so I finally got the steering column switch assy, a2129007702. it looks the same as the old one, when installed I still have the same problem, nothing on the steering wheel works, I can see where you plug the wheel to the column that there are 2 pins missing, so this is not the right part number, my next option is to swap the column switches from my 2013 to 2005 and see if that works, very frustrating as I now have a switch assy bought at great expense which is useless to me

Wow, sounds like a lot of problems just to upgrade the steering wheel.
