charcoal delete hesitation
Since taking my charcoals out i notice my car bucks a little in 7th gear on parkway when i give it very little gas. Anyone else have this issue. Also feel like i have less power in lower rpms.

My car does the same thing. More than 7th gear but same idea. Light throttle from a steady cruise around 2200rpm. I did more than change the charcoals so I was not sure of the cause. EC adjusted my tune when I went to V5 and it seems better but not gone altogether. Are you going to put the charcoals back in or have another plan?

i have 0E tune so i contacted Jeremy to see if he can do anything and yes exactly around that rpm is the problem. Car did it before i tuned it so i put the charcoals back in also running K&n intakes. Do you notice a difference with yours out vs having them back in? I feel like have more top end but loose a little power down low

I got EC tune on and put in AFE dry filters and removed charcoal filters.
My stock filters were really dirty so the positive difference in performance and sound is night and day for me. How much of that has to do with the charcoal filter delete, I am not sure.
I have no issues so far in terms of maf sensor or cel issues (knock on wood).

I am running Weistec filters dry. I do not have a CEL either but just a slight hesitation at times. Less now than at first. Maybe my fuel trims are adjusting. Once the car is completely warmed up and I am more comfortable putting my right foot into it it is a beast.

In comfort mode my car is fine in 7th as low as 55/60mph in manual if I just race it to 7th for economy or forget to downshift before getting back on the gas I can feel the hesitation. But for me it just seems to be my driving habits that cause it when I'm trying to drive Ms. Daisy.
If it is happening all the time even in lower gears it may be adapting because it will think lean until it notices the additional air flow.

I just put my charcoals back in and the car runs allot better low end torque increased and no hesitation in 7th. I guess the oil from the K&N was messing with the maf sensor. Jeremy said put charcoals back in because will block that from happening. But he also said use afe dry filters and take charcoals out so i dont no why you are having a issue with your dry filters

If you purchased K&N filters, just wash them with soap & water and rinse well, allow to dry overnight OR use hair dryer to fully dry the elements then re-install.
If you like, before you re-install filters, spray some MAF cleaner on the maf sensors.
Make sure everything is assembled nice a tight, and drive it.
This pre-install practice has been employed when using new K&N filters for years with many other applications.

When I installed my K&N I used a clean rag and wiped off the seals and set the filters on the engine while it cools to speed things up drying the filters.
Even still I use a MAF cleaner after 2k miles to make sure nothing is there, pick the bug corpses out of the filters, and make sure nothing is in the air box. Then I don't look again for 20k miles. Same practice for all my vehicles and zero issues for 10+ years.
