anyone in LA use one of the mid city engineering dealers to install a VIM? I was thinking to check out Al and Ed's on Wilshire, and looking for some reviews.

The Mid-city engineering VIM is very easy to install. You can do it yourself. It's just a plug and play unit. I did it a few years back and don't recall it being too difficult to install.

thanks, guys. I was also looking to ask some questions in person at the store about the different vim packages. are you guys just getting the basic one?

I got this one. I'm not sure if other VIM models require the box but this one doesn't which is why I bought it.

edit: Not only was I skeptical about stuffing a box behind the Command unit but the basic VIM had exactly the functionality I needed, no more and no less.
