[PICS] New Rims

So i decided to get the rims.

They are a knock off of an S65 / CL65 wheel pretty much.

They are 19"

8.5" ET40 Front - 245/35/19
9.5" ET48 Rear - 275/30/19

My car is not lowered (though i will be lowering a little)

FYI guys, the rear OCCASIONALLY rubs ever so slightly over big bumps with just myself in the car.

The tyres are Khumo Ecsta brand. I will be changing the tyres on the weekend to proper decent ones, as these ones are loud as hell (the rims / tyres were 2nd hand - so they already had the Khumos fitted)

The sidewall on the tyres seems to be pretty square. Though, since i want to slower the car slightly, im thinking to dial it back to 265s on the rear, and maybe 235 on the front. What do you guys think?

Anyway here are some crappy iPhone pics. Will take proper pics after i but new tyres and wash the car.

As you can see, the rear rim sits IN from the guard about 2mm. So its quite flush with the body. The fronts are still sitting in from the guard. So 3mm spacer will actually even the whole thing out, and should looks quite nice.

Also, i weighed each rim / tyre and happy to note that they are not much heavier than the factory rims. They are 1.4kg (3.04Lbs) heavier (Rims & Tyre package) EACH one. So total extra weight is 5.6Kg (12.3Lbs)
not too bad IMO stepping up from 18x8 and 18x9.

So as a run down.
From factory, fronts are 8" ET45. New wheels currently sit 11mm FURTHER out, and once i put the 3mm spacer, will sit 14mm further out (should fit perfect)

Rears are factory 9" ET54. New wheels sit 12mm further out. And its quite flush with the body.

Happy to answer any questions.

So sick!! Good job, looks OEM.

Yes you should go down to 265/30 with +48mm offset.

No you should not go down to 235/35 with +40mm (+37mm incl 3mm spacers), the 245/35 will work fine.

BTW, where did you find 3mm hubcentric spacers?

Ros,
3mm hub spacer
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/201134506...84.m1438.l2649

I was thinking to go down to 235 so i get that little bit of wrap on the front tyres, to match the rears.

Aww, they have hubcentric bore... but no hubcentric lip/ring to sit the wheel bore on them. You gotta be careful while installing them so u dont get vibration.

Yeah, 235/35 will be fine if you want the stretched look over meaty look.

Ohh, yeah its not HUBCENTRIC totally. i know what you mean.
The hub on our cars sits out at least 5mm, so these will slip on, and there will still be factory hub for rim to sit on.
SHOULDNT vibrate. But i will see i guess.
Vibration usually happens, if the wheel has no hub to sit on, and its totally reliant on the wheel bolts (apparently)

I will give it a try anyway, see how it goes.
Thanks for heads up though.

Oh I didn't know our hubs is 5mm, so yes 2mm left should help a bit to align the bolts properly & for the wheels to sit on them to avoid vibrations.

The hubs stick out 8mm so you will have 5mm and should be fine depending on the design of the bore in the wheel.

The wheels look great on your estate and are very OEM looking.

Beautiful estate. The rims actually look really nice to be honest. Very elegant on your car!

Well changed my tyres today, and put 265/30 on the rear.

Still rubs occasionally over deep bumps.

Anyone else experienced this?
Car isn't lowered.

Kinda wishing I went 255s so the tyres would wrap a little more. Even on 9.5" rim still no wrap.

The guy who bought my HRE wheels had the following setup without rubbing:
ET43 9.5x19 with 255/30/19 Dunlop tires on H&R springs.

So tires are key here

Wow, thanks for the heads up.

I'm either thinking that the estate might have a slightly different setup somehow (though I can't see how- as even springs/ shocks are interchangeable between sedan/ coupe/ wagon)

It only rubs slightly over deep bumps and undulations in the road.

How abouts others running 265s? Any input?

I'm thinking I will have to get some 255s
I was liking the traction too.
