Tire Wear Mark

Which wear mark I should rely on? The one above or below?

This rear tire only have 6KM on it.

I usually go by the one that's at the bottom...except on the C63. I just run them til they are bald.

If I recall correctly. One is supposed to indicate when the tire is no longer safe to drive in wet-weather but still okay in the dry and the other is when the tires is no longer safe in any condition no matter how nice. I think I read that on the tirerack website, but not 100% positive. I never figured which was which.

The one with the X is for wet performance
When the X is gone wet weather performance is degraded

Thank you guys. That makes sense to me now.

Gonna change to winter tires pretty soon. Hopefully these summer tires could last for another summer next year.

the lower ones are the 2/32nds mark. which wont pass state inspections.
