Ordering '15 507 - opinions on Alcantara or Leather
Hi,
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a factory order. What are your opinions on the Alcantara/Leather porcelain (beige) and black two-tone interior,
vs. the all black all leather interior?
Im actually not a big fan of alcantara since I don't love that it's synthetic and don't think it will wear or clean as well as leather.
So let me know about wear and cleaning for the alcantara used in the C63.
I do prefer the two-tone colors though, than the all black.

I ordered the two tone and have no regrets. I purchased a MB seat cover towel to sit on to protect my seats when wearing pants that could mark/damage my seats.
I also wear driving gloves to prolong the life of the alcantara SW. I figure dirty and or sweaty hands could make the alcantara SW look like crap after a while.
GL/Cheers,
B

Thank you.
I do love the way the alcantara feels on the hands though.
Will try to see both versions of the interior in actual cars soon.

I've had leather (Audi) and went with Alcantara with my C63 (Black/Black).
So far I really like it. The steering wheel feels great.

The nappa leather with Dinamica (alcantara) is awesome. I have the black/black with contrasting stictching, but the porcelain nappa/black dinamica is honestly my favorite. No way I'd order the full Napa leather, even if it was no cost (which it isn't).
Keep in mind that a 507 interior is upgraded and apart from the Dinamica surfaces everything else is Nappa leather - arm rest, door handle, seat bolsters and trim.

It was a tough choice for me, and full Nappa was a no-cost option in Canada. I chose to go with the Black Nappa / Black Alcantara combo vs. the full-Black leather (did not like look of Porcelain / Black with red exterior 507 that I ordered).
Main reason was that the Black / Alcantara combo includes white contrast stitching on seats and side panels which matches the stitching on steering wheel and column shifter. Full Nappa will not have contrasting stitching and you can't customize the wheel/shifter stiching on the 507 so I thought it would stand out too much.
Secondary reason is that Alcantara wears well (from what I've read). It won't get shiny, crack, whisker, or fade over time vs. leather, provided you take care of it. Upkeep of Alcantara is minimal.
I would note that drinks in the car becomes 'DANGER ALERT' and you must keep a close eye on cups as I would hate to clean a spill on Alcantara.

Good advice guys, thanks.
I was being swayed to go with the porcelain/black DINAMICA, but the drink spilling danger is a big one for me… have a new baby on the way and I imagine there will be some spilled juice/barf?/etc… yikes!

My 507 has full Black nappa interior...for resale its the way to go, also it wears better (cleaning, repairing etc) than the other surfaces offered, the only thing I wish it had was the contrasting stitching that match's the shifter boot and steering wheel...(second choice is dinamica /Black nappa), note that dinamica, is not the same as Alcantara (Alcantara is 3x price and a different better material than the man made dinamica)

I chose the dinamica interior because I wanted to have the seats and doors match the shifter and steering wheel. I am happy with my decision but as has been stated, I am scared of getting this stuff dirty because it would not be easy to clean.

Both materials are man made, and actually both materials are made from polyester and polyurethane. The only difference is the percentages, Alcantara has 68% polyester and Dinamica has 88%.

Thanks for the clarification....I heard that its very expensive? perhaps because of it manufacturing process?
