I believe the resonator is what contributes to some of the AMG bark right?

secondary cats delete with straight pipes + resonator replaced with X pipe +V5 Tune = Crazy sounding blips and orgasmic sound.

ok I'm a bit confused. Sorry for amateur hour on my part but I've got my C63 P31 with Eurocharged V5 and want my exhaust to retain the AMG bark but also be more louder and all around more aggressive WHILST being able to daily drive it.

Now I was planning on going the resonator and secondary cat delete with Eurocharged's X-Pipe. According to them, that set up will make it louder, more aggressive but also keep the signature AMG bark and not be too obnoxious for daily driving.

Anyone confirm this?

Just get the secondary cats gutted, its a easy job that can be done by any good garage and looks stock, No cels and sounds superb but not too loud!!

would like to get this one here - don't want to weld replacement pipes in there - would like to be able to set it back to original any time within a few minutes...

Description says fits 07-11 models - are there any changes at the facelift exhaust? didn't think so???

No, if you fit this you will have to cut one pipe, it can of course be rewelded but that takes time, best to go for secondary cat gut, its easy and looks oem, you can do it and forget it, Even when you sell the car, And my way will cost you 150 euro at most.

This is for secondary cat...

For getting the cat out you always have to cut any pipes...
I could do that myself - have a sheet metal working company.

Just don't want to weld a pice of pipe in there as it is not reversible within a few minutes...

So in short, to make the car a bit more louder when giving it whilst keeping the signature AMG sound, the best way to go is getting the secondary cat removed?

I'm in a "Emissions ****" province so how dors this affect the emissions capability of the car?

You could always flange the cut section with a V-Band to make it easier down the road.

Just straight pipe the resonators and leave the cats. Trust me.

Hmmm but some say if you get rid of the Resonator, you will lose the signature AMG bark. With all the variations in set up and sound variances I am left a bit confused as to what is the best option in my case.

From what I've read if you delete the resonater and replace it with an H pipe you'll keep the bark

I think the M5 guys have it easy, just change the software within the speaker next to the exhaust and they could even have Miley Cyrus songs play lol

Okay, I will make this really simple - I think:

* IF you want the deep AMG sound, DO NOT remove the Resonator. Removing the resonator will result in a louder exhaust note...yes, but it will be raspier - almost like an LS1 Camaro from back in the day.

* IF you simply want loud and like raspy, then remove Res and Sec Cats

* IF you want to maintain that deep sound especially down low - remove the secondary cats ONLY and replace with H-pipe. However, I've seen guys replace secondary cats with X-pipe or even aftermarket resonators and it sounds really deep and no raspyness.

If you listen to the F1 Pace and Medical cars, you will notice that both are loud, but the SLS sounds deeper while the Medical car (wagon) sounds raspier - if raspy is what you like, then remove resonator; if you want more...remove the secondary cats. I prefer deep, that is why I only removed the secondary cats.

Again, it all depends on what you want/like. BTW, as far as RWHP gains it is miminal at best - you may, and I mean may get an additional 5rwhp gain by removing either or both components. You do however gain a slight acceleration due to the weight loss. Believe me, any weight loss with this boat is a good thing - espcially when it comes to maximum speed.

Hope this helps

I would recommend removing both via straight pipe. Sounds similar to stock, just a bit meaner and more aggressive which is exactly what I wanted.

Another vid of only secondary cat removal - replaced with Mike's straight pipe (with VBand for easy swapping). Stock resonator was left in place.

There are a few other videos showing these options if you search around. Here is one I used when deciding (secondary cat delete only):

When the time comes, I'll contact MBH and see what I can do to get this sound and pass emissions as well as not get any cel's.

You can delete the secondary cats in most places without an issue since it's not required by law, only thing I read is it COULD (I stress could not will) cause a failed sniff test
