The prodigal son returns
Hey guys,
Huge AMG fanboi here - a W210 E55, W203 C55 and now a W204 C63. I erred in judgment in the middle and went with a 996 Porsche C4S, but I have now rectified that mistake
Traded the Porsche in for a 2011 Obsidian black with 29k miles, navi and lighting package. I had no idea how much I needed keyless go and reverse camera in my life till now
Look forward to being a part of mbworld again and learning about the car. Haven't figured out the cornering fog lamps function yet - can't quite see the light output moving with the wheel? Really wish they put heated steering wheels in these things too.
Gotta run, since I have to go fuel up the C63 - seems to drink fuel even when parked

Nice car! Congrats. The cornering fog lights operate below 25 mph when you turn the wheel or activate the turn signal. No one seems to have figured out how to program it off. The only way to not look stupid is to run around with the fog lights on. And yeah, as someone commented on my car, "that thing must go past everything but a gas pump!"

Next year, I may get some CF trim pieces such as a front lip, rear diffuser and roof spoiler, but not for a while.

Congrats on the C63, enjoy.
I have the same lights and hardly notice them either and it is pitch dark here at night. They shine to the side, low to the ground and close to the car. If you are looking forward at all you will likely not notice them. You might see a reflection off a parked car if you go slow and look carefully.

I'm coming from a 996 as well. Mine was a TT modified to around 550hp and 600lbs.ft.
It was much faster than my V5-C63, but the main reason I got rid of the 996TT was that I felt that someday, it'd cost me my license.
All in all, the C63 is much more fun to drive at normal speed. The 996TT is/was just too competent/fast for the road.
I hope you enjoy your C63 in good health.
