That was an awesome read, thanks!
Since I work for a bmw tuning shop it's very easy for me to get coding/tuning done to make the car more sporty.
As far as it goes I'm after a comfortable sport sedan that I can crawl around town with and take friends/girlfriend out on trips in. The c63 is great for this stuff, but when it costs me $300 to drive to radium that's no fun.
Does yours have the night vision camera? Trying to see if that's worth it.
This is my old S4:
It would really **** me off when people always said "oh that's a nice A4, why didn't you get an S?"
With the AMG people say "that's a sick merc dude, it's AMG right?"
Audis are just such a generic car shape... Nothing except the front grill really makes them pop. They have no significant body lines.

I ordered my M5 with Executive Package, Driver Assist Package, Full Leather, DCT, 20" 343M wheels ... but no night vision. I live in LA by the beach and for what I use the car, it would be a wasted option in my opinion. However, if someone lives in an area more remote and/or wooded with no street lights, it could be worth it. The only option I would have been interested in are ceramic brakes ... but were not available when I bought the car.
I guess you're talking about fuel consumption? ... sorry if I misunderstood you. The problem with my CLK, like it was with my E63 M6, not only are they gas guzzlers, but both have/had small 16 gallon tanks. With my V10 I was a gas stations best friend ... guaranteed to visit every other day. With the M5 I average 14mpg+ in town ... with getting "on it" once in a while, but with all that traffic, most of the time stop and go. Last month I went on a trip to Napa Valley with my wife. Mostly cruising 80 -90 mph on the FWY and some "all the way" sprints when it was open. Avg. was like in the low 20's. Combined with the bigger tank in the M5 ... range with a full tank was 400+ miles.

Shopping for a $110k car but complaining about spending a measly $150 or so a week on fuel???
Not really seeing the logic there

I don't think its so much the cost as much as the constant gas station visits. I'm sure many members on here wouldn't mind paying double at the pump at one time and cut the gas station visits in half.

Also because that's $600 more a month I could be spending on other stuff.

Is fueling up twice a week really that much of a burden??? It takes a whole 5 minutes to fuel an empty tank. Besides, OP specifically mentions the $80 tank of fuel twice a week so it's safe to assume he is griping about the financial burden of the fuel. Maybe they should be on a Prius forum or Nissan Leaf forum or pony up some cash for a P1 or 918. Unfortunately the internal combustion engine still(and alsways will) requires fuel and a high performance internal combustion engine requires a bunch of fuel. In 10 years or so when we might see the prices come down on the performance hybrids but right now we are limited to slow vanilla Prius type hybrid technology or $600k-$850K supercar hybrid technology, no middle ground yet, but it's coming.

2010 C63 AMG, 2011 Mini Cooper (work)
Get a beater dude. Most people i know with cars like this have beaters for the commute & nonsense driving just to keep miles low and fuel costs low.
For me it was the mileage. I drive 78 miles a day for work and there was no way I was comfy putting that on an AMG. But still, I save a buttload of money on gas with my 38 MPG mini that i get to spend on stupid stuff for my AMG.

The BMW is nice, but with the 4matic I want the E63s. Unfortunately, it's out of my range too. I'm waiting to save up and let the historical AMG depreciation rate hit these E63s.

You are NOT crazy...DO IT!!!
I currently own both a '06 E60 M5 (117K miles -DD) and a F10 '13 M5...those cars compared to my '09 C63 are much more composed and offer greater built quaility in and out, ride and handling and so on.
Keep in mind though, the C63 is basically a C-class on roids vs a 5 series also on roids. The better comparison would be a E63 vs M5.
Back to your topic...my '13 F10 is much better vs my current '09 C63. I have friends with post FL C63's and when comparing to the F10 M5, the Merc still comes short in just about every category except maybe the stock exhaust sound, especially how it feeds into the cabin.
However, the M5 sounds like a mean SOB once you delete the mufflers, install catless DP and a tune. I still much prefer the deeper sound of the 63 and even the TT 5.5, but the BMW sound is cool as well.
Hope this helps

Usually if you see any BMW, especially Manything, for sale it's because the current owner is facing major inspection and is blown away by the cose of that service, not to mention repairs. Of course if you work for a shop....

Sometimes I do feel the need for a powerful AWD vehicle being in Edmonton. So whenever it's time for me to switch from the AMG I will be looking at GTR's or R8's. M5's are wonderful cars but since only rear wheel drives defeats my purpose.
