Car won't start

Just went to go start it, nothing..no dash lights, zip..put the key in, turn it all the way..same thing as push start, I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes same thing...the key fob has a little red light that blinks when i goto push start..any ideas? I'd have the car towed to MB but it's stuck in park

Sounds like a battery, get the battery changed.

If it's not the battery, check fuses. Even if the starter AND keyless start controller were fragged, you would still hear a "CLICK CLICK CLICK" when you turned the key, from relays.

No there is no click click click on these cars. When the battery is dead everything shuts down, no starter click like you'd normally hear. Ecu senses low voltage and won't send anything to the starter.

It could be a security thing. Had my car get stuck at the gym . Went in fine left the gym couldn't turn the car on had to tow it . Later found out they need to change the. Lock . Steering colum. And reset the keys.

yeah my car was running fine yesterday then left it for 2hours and went to get in and this, luckily we can't leave the lights on in our cars..battery is fine i tested it, the SA at MB says it's most likely this or (EZL Module) ignition
switch

funny i had 2 completely shot fuel pumps and the car still ran, but a dumb little electronic unit goes and it's coffin time

That sucks man. If it's your ignition it should be covered even if your out of warranty.
Good luck .

I mean if a relay is out, not the battery.

Like everything else on our cars.. this is a known problem that MB refuses to do a recall on, but should be covered. I had my Steering column replaced for the same thing.

Curious
Why should it be covered out of warranty?
How would any business put a cap on liability if everything had to be covered forever?

Steering lock is more than likely the problem should be around $500-700. If key was played with a bit in ignition it would have started at some point. How long? It all depends I got them going 10 tries or as long as an hour. There is a MB document for steering locks. Sometimes the 20a or 7.5a fuse blows in the front Sam (driver side underhood fuse box). Also the pre fuse box (jumper port passenger side) can go as well. Fuses inside of box cannot be replaced. If steering lock MB should be able to cover for you.

yep EIS/Steering lock is the issue, its a after market push button..do you think that might have something to do with it also? checked fuses with a volt meter all looked fine none blown, just hopefully the parts arrive soon and dont have to come from germany like the fuel pumps lol

The push button has no logic in it. You can interchange from car to car. So no aftermarket will have nothing to do. Esl steering lock or eis ignition switch is a TRP order part so it usually take 2-3 days.

I just had to replace the EIS/ESL on the 08 C300. Cost $1500 at the dealership.

There is a campaign on it ..not a re-call...for the C300, I don't know if this is a common problem for the C63 (hope not)

It says 2008 w204 no model number
Did I miss it?

It is not on the list when I check my VIN on the MB site
Perhaps it was done?

It also states the approximate no. of vehicles affected is 10
???

It's a campaign, not a re-call. So if you're vehicle is out of warranty, you'll be paying for it.

The 10 vehicles is a typing error as many have experienced this problem

I have a recent VMI
doesn't show up as applicable
It does show others that have been completed

The car was a cpo and the campaigns were supposedly checked
General
4 All recall and/or other campaigns performed Checked & signed

If it does fail and it was not done I won't be paying
That is if it even applies to my model

Then again more than a few cpo items checked but not completed
