Does Aftermarket LSD void CPO warranty?

If I were to add one? Or can MB install and then it would be covered?

It probably would not be covered. They shouldn't be able to void ALL of the CPO warranty but if you were to break a half shaft or a driveshaft, they might blame the LSD even though we know LSD is an option. But, for example, if your head bolts failed, LSD shouldn't affect the warranty.

ok got it. I just didn't know if they would say you modified this car all CPO is off. because if they wanted to I guess they could say while installing the LSD some other parts of the car were accidently damaged. I don't know... I wonder if the dealership would install and CPO keep in tact.

Just have a good indy shop throw one in there. The dealer won't even know. The dealer will charge far too much to install, if they will even touch aftermarket parts.

As others have said the diff will not be covered
Even if the dealer did it they won't cover non oem parts
If you got them to install an oem that you boght from them it would be covered under a seperate warranty as would the install

All other systems should not be affected
They may not even know unless you tell them

The dealership won't usually install aftermarket parts, and any warranty on any affected components would be voided. In other words, if you have a problem with your headlights or COMAND system it likely won't be an issue, but if your transmission blows up and they find out you have an aftermarket LSD, they could try to void the warranty on that particular repair.

I have asked my dealers mbusa field rep about installing the Benz lsd differential. I stated it was an option for year and my model. if I were to install the mb lsd factory diff and later on if something went wrong with the unit or a problem occurred would there be an issue with cpo. Will not void warranty and coverage for that component will be ok if records show that dealer installed. So if your looking into installing and keeping warranty for the diff maybe this is an option. Aftermarket will not void cpo warranty just the component in this case lsd aftermarket diff will not be covered if something occurs or goes wrong with the unit itself, or if component that was installed affects another component failure then it will not be covered.
