The badge is available online on ebay, not sure if that's where the badge the OP has is from. Sorry about the damage OP, but at least you're okay. The insurance will cover the costs don't worry about that.

How do you remove the badge and install the new one? Is it just glue or something? Take fishing line under the badge and remove it?

Having your hood opened just press the springs in the back of the OEM badge and push upward or pull up from the top

Make sure you buy the correct diameter size 57mm (2.5inches)

Are you sure 57mm is the right size? The biggest I see is 47mm on ebay and even the most expensive one is only 45mm.

After 3 years and maybe the deer, the front front edge of the badge delaminated a little. If I find it, I'll post again. The one I have is also embossed and looks great. I think it better quality than the one posted above.

Mine as well is embossed but it came as an "embossed" sticker too. Like I said the seller I bought it from does not sell them anymore.
