Tinting Quote from MB Dealer Seems High
For my 2012 C63 Coupe. All windows except windshield. Benz dealer quote me $675 + tax?? Seems really high for a tint job. Any thoughts?

Skip the dealer and find a reputable local shop, you should be able to get good ceramic tint for around 400 or less.
Make sure you get ceramic or a tint that wont interfere with the gps, radio, keyless system, etc

I need a tint job too, seems like ceramic tint is key. I'm in NY and I'm sure other states have laws on tint %, but any thoughts from you guys on what tint % to go with? The factory windows already come with a modest tint to them as well, don't they? Thx

I know that the tint is rated differently at each place (also depending on what type you get), but I got 20% ceramic all the way around. I wanted it somewhat dark but not the murdered out look. You can still see in quite a bit but still gives that dark look. Able to see out just fine at night as well (I know some worry about that). I would suggest 20-35%, all depends on how dark you want it though. Any tint looks better than no tint at all though lol.

here theres no restriction on the back but i wanted to see out at night so i got 15% looks really dark and i can see perfectly.
i'd just check local laws first to be informed so you don't rely on the shop.
as you said ceramic (or equivalent like wincos)is key

I am in NY as well. 70% is the law. The tint master said 50% will be fine. 35% should be ok. 20% gets you pulled over once a month. I am going tomorrow. Thinking 50% I don't want to go too dark but ultimately will depend on what it looks like in person.

Any other suggestions on picking a place for tint (besides NOT going to the dealer)? I always think of tint-gone-wrong on cheap, old cars that's all bubbly and peeling...
Thanks again

No laughing over here. No joke. Probably a 30% markup just for NYC pricing. She is getting worked on right now. I will post some pics post. I wanted 50% but they convinced me to do 35% all around....

I agree. 50% would be a waste of money. 35% or darker is the way to go. I used to run 50% on my entire front windshield and 30% on all other glass on previous cars.
I am thinking on the AMG I may do 30% on the front doors, 20% on the rear doors, and 30 on the back glass

Done. Looks pretty sick. I can't believe I am saying this but almost could have gone darker. Definitely better than 50pct. It started snowing here so I am not jumping around taking pics but should have tomorrow.
