Reversing Full Lock Noise

Hi guys,

When I reverse my C63 Copue off my drive which is a slight up hill, and then turn full right lock as the rear of the car hits the main road which is perpindicular to my drive going down hill, as the left front weel reaches approx the junction of my drive and road, there is a thudding noise from the left front well, sounds like it happens three or four times then stops as the car arrives on the road fully.
Is this normal and whats causing it?

It's not normal, it has happened to a lot of members here if you do a search. Some were ball joints, some were brake issues etc.. I actually had this happen to me, and all it was, was a plate underneth the car that came loose. If your car is under warranty take it in and let MB deal with it, if not try tightening the plate first and then proceed to the other area's i mentioned from a good indy shop preferably that deals with mercedes.

The car is only just a year old, just covered 10K miles. I dont think its aplate, feels to heavy a noice for that, ball joint would be a single clunck, this is 3 or 4, and gap between each one depends how fast I reverse. Feels like the outer wheel is beeing dragged rather than turning. Doesnt do it on flat ground etc.

I'm telling you, that's exactly the noise I had with what your describing. There are various fixes if you look around the boards. I'm a tech my friend and I'm just telling you from experience. It could be something just loose or it could be something bigger. The noise your are hearing is not normal. It happened to a friend of mine as well and the my tech couldn't find it and all it was, was a loose plate. It seems to me your still under full warranty so I wouldn't sweat it to much, just make sure they fix it. It's often hard to find a noise that doesn't show itself every time, and MB will say they could replicate the noise. Just giving you a heads up my friend
