Do we have an official/sticky exhaust thread?

There are so many options for exhaust setups for the C63s, I was hoping we had a sticky showing different exhaust setups.

For instance, secondaries deleted only, resonator deleted only. Secondaries + resonator deleted and replaced with straight pipes. Long tube headers only. LTHs + resonator delete etc.

Maybe discussions on Xpipe/Hpipe setups and how that impacts sound level and raspiness.

I am trying to understand when rasp is developed. Rasp can be great, but too much can take away from the AMG motor sound.

I'd like to see the various setups and what you guys think of different setups.

What do you guys think?

Your best bet is to just take some time and going through the official video thread and see what you find in there.

The problem with exhaust setups and youtube is that 2 identical setups may sound very different based on things such as different cameras used, different distance from exhaust, etc.

Also, the way people hear rasp is going to vary. Your best bet is to just go with something and see how it works out.

Yea, I noticed the video thread but didn't have the time then to go through, maybe this weekend is a good idea.

And I agree with you.

I have an exhaust shop that I've used for all my cars (5) to date, and they do exceptional work. Before I hand them my near future C63 to hack up (deleted just secondaries only, custom Xpipe/H pipe, deleted resonator only etc.) I want to make sure I'll actually enjoy the sound and not have it sound like crap.

Thanks for the post, I'll have to do some digging this weekend..

Secondary and res delete sounds really good. Can't go wrong with that.

Some people will tell you that it drones. I never had a drone issue with that setup though.

Thanks again!

I guess my debate is this because I think headers are a MUST on that platform/motor and something I plan to do:

-Do only LTH and leave rest of the exhaust stock?
-Or do it all? I like a little drone, actually, not a lot but some is always good and for me, personally, it doesn't get old

I'd like to hear how the car is, loud/drone-wise with long tubes, deleted secondaries and deleted resonator (stock mufflers). This is likely what I feel I'll be doing for some reason.

That just sounds ridiculous! That would make people deaf for a few seconds during a WOT flyby.

Yea, it is loud.

That is why I always recommend secondary cat and res delete for daily use. It is loud, but not going to get you a ticket loud or **** your neighbors off. Furthermore, you won't have to deal with possible CELs or inspection headaches that you'd come across with headers.
