Tuned C63 vs Tuned E55 Predictions
Thread to go along with a similar thread my friend 'TLIBZ' made on the w211 amg section;
THE CARS:
'10 c63: ROW air boxes & MAF with K&N filters and charcoal delete, secondary cat and resonator delete, replaced with a MBH X-Pipe, v5 Eurocharged tune for my specific set up, H&R Coilovers ~1.75 inch drop,
Also getting a new set of michelin PSS (stock spec) put on, don't think I can go wider without rubbing with the drop...
'04 e55: K&N filters, cat+res replaced with a X-Pipe and muffler deleted, with Eurocharged Tune
E55 has a pano roof.
We will probably be doing a roll start either at 20 or 30 mph, and maybe from stop- all to be decided.
What are you predictions??

So, you say the e55 is tuned, and then don't list it?
If the e55 is tuned, and you race from a dig or a roll, he'll beat you up to a certain speed. That thing has something called torque, and more than your c63.
Once you catch up though, he wont come back.

Expecting it to be close with someone winning be half a cars length. Pros is I've had my car since brand new, over 5 years and i know every single mode and how to control it in different circumstances etc...those 10k miles are very aggressive 10k miles lol he's had it for 2 months so idk well have to see its all in good fun though he's my good friend.
How do you all think it would change after I get my MBH lt headers installed with catless mid pipes?

C63 takes it, unless the 55 has a pulley & exhaust. Even then, on a long enough run, the 7 speed will eventually overtake him, although that's not really the same for bragging purposes.

It should be interesting, as I should be putting down 460whp, 500tq, and he should be around 430whp 400tq. They weigh almost the same E55 being 100lbs heavier.

That is what I was thinking, especially after the updated V5 tune, i noticed a huge difference in top end power, especially in the 4k+ rpm range in 4,5 and 6th gears

ya 63 will get the e55 eventually. It'll probably be close till about 95 (the end of 2nd gear in the e55 lol) the 55 motor just doesnt have the top end the 63's do specially a tuned one. If the 55 motor had a pulley it'd probably be even till like 130 or so. 63 will still walk away. Dont forget about heat soak too, if you make him run you enough it'll eventually kick the supercharger clutch off and he'll lose half his power lol.

A tune only on a 55k will do a few things, but nothing huge. Just like the tune on my CL didn't really do much; it was already close to max from the factory. Exhaust & boost are what open cars up (with the exception of the factory de-tuned C63.... the tune puts it back where it should be).

I love how in the e55 section thread the voting is 28-1 in favor of the E.

lol, i just saw that. Id be all for the E if it had a pulley, like they said above a tune on an e55 is good for maybe 15-20hp/tq. pulley and tune is 50+ but gives it that much need bump in the top end. I like how some of those guys are saying go from a 60mph roll to 140. i think they underestimate the 7spd advantage. the e55 will only use 2nd and 3rd gear, the c will use 2,3,4,5 gears at those speeds.

So me and my friend TLIBZ ran our amgs last night!
I was really thinking the race would be closer and we would have to watch videos to see who the winner was. Did both races in M with traction off, from a 40 roll. I was in second gear a little over 4000 rpm
I felt the first race was perfect, shifted at all the right times, left right at the horn, Watching the video we both took off at the same time and didn't seem to be any jumps or stuff like that.
I ruined the second race, as you can see in the vid before the third honk I was at 42 and was in front by what felt like a foot, so for what ever reason I took my foot off the gas and thats when he hit the 3rd horn either way was nice to see my car kept up and I felt like i was closing the gap!
incase anyone is looking for the videos;
