PERAL WHITE PAINT PROBLEM C63 AMG
Hi I have an AMG C63 coupe which is color white pearl. I live in Spain, and the car has been in a Mercesdes workshop 2 months now because they say they cannot match the paint!! They say it has 49 variants of the pearl color blah blah blah and that they have sent a sample to a laboratory in Germany so they can get the exact color. Im from the U.K. and the car is a U.K. registerd car, Im thinking of taking the car back to the U.K. to paint it because im that desperate and annoyed they cant touch the door and the boot lid up where there was minor paint defects.
Any help or advice is VERY VERY much appreciated because im at my whits end because in spain you dont even get a courtesy car!!!

White pearl colors are always "impossible" to match. There will always be some slight differences from factory paint job. At best they get it to 80-90% match, I personally haven't seen a 100% match on white pearl colors.

Thanks very much for your help! They said to get it right we should paint the whole car ha ha ha... And also I have noticed the bumpers turn a bit more of a darker tone because when I used the car in winter, in the UK the water and salt that hits the front and rear and sides of the cars discolors the paint alot. Its a very difficult paint to have.

Yeah, my sister has a diamond pearl coupe and her front bumper was repainted. It has a different shade compared to the rest of the body. I've also talked to and know of people with pearl white matching problems. GL with your repaint and hope it gets as close as possible.
If you look closely, your side skirts are probably a different shade than the body too, it's because it's not the same material as the rear bumper or body.

Yeah you are exactly right... do you think the bumpers look a different shad because of weather endurance or just because pearl paint turns a different tone on plastic like the side skirts? I noticed the side skirts too.... Its crazy when you think of it of how delicate this paint work is and how they are so incompitent at repairing something they have manufactured and should just have a color code... Any way a massive thanks for your help and time its been very welcome and very much appreciated!

I'm not sure if Diamond White is the color you're talking about, but I had my bumper repainted because they couldn't fix a scratch without repainting it all, and it does match the car's color perfectly.

I guess they just did a bad job with my sister's diamond white. Anyways, OP is talking about pearl white, and I was talking about pearl colors in general don't match. Whoever did your pearl and matched it 100% is amazing then.

diamond white is pearl white. all these are just other names for a tri-coat white.
IE Bmw's "mineral white" is also "pearl"
ALL bumpers mis-match, except blacks. Only trained eyes can see it. Unless it's terribly horrid. In my experience i think Nissan is the worst paint.

I might notice that the plastic panels on mine are slightly darker in a certain light/angle but, when you change that angle slightly, it all blends and the pearl effect flows. 99% of the time, I can't see anything and no-one else can either but, as it's your car you're going to, just like microscopic stone chips.
