Dunlop Star Spec ZII Experience
Hey guys, I have been running through so many previous posts about replacing OEM tires my head was spinning. I have finally decided to go with Star Spec ZII's as my 2013 C63 P31 Coupe w MHP headers + EC tune is mainly a weekend driver w the occasional track day. I desperately need more real wheel traction. I decided to go with 245/40/18's up front and 275/35/18's in the rear. Anyone have experience with this setup? I know many have run PSS's with these sizes on OEM 18's without issue. Thoughts...?

I ran this set up. lasted around 5k miles lol. Did include 3-4 track days (dont rmb exactly). Not a fan for daily driving duties as they are quite loud and jumpy at high way speeds if you know what I mean. For a weekend car should be fine tho.
performance wise its great, so much grip, wears well on the track and combined with my LSD, great traction off the line. you actually have to try to break it loose. btw my set up was with 245/40/18 and 265/35/18. reason I went with 265 is because on stock wheels I think its a little too narrow to run a 275 causing tires to feel a little wobbly.

Agree!
The DZII's are great tires, very good dry weather grip. But like most performance based tires, they literally melt under "spirited" driving conditions.
275 on the stock 18's are OK for everyday driving. But for auto x / tracking they may feel a bit wobbly with tight turn ins.

Thanks for all the feedback...
I think I am going to pull the trigger. It was down to these and the RE11a's. I was wondering about potential "rolling" with 275's... :/
Torn between more section width for straight line hook or smaller for better handling...
Being that I will only go to the track and/or drag strip 1-2x/yr, I will probably go wider.
