Long Term Plans for Your C63 AMG

i'll probably keep it and pay it off, simply because it's been my dream car for quite some time and i was able to get it for a great deal just last year.
i still have a few mods to do at a shop, e.g. secondary cat delete, potential head bolt replacement (currently still under warranty), new 19" wheels.
mods i'm still planning to do myself are wrapping the interior trim, as i've already completed the exterior by myself, adding a few more carbon pieces on the car that are currently on the way from china, and finally swapping out those hard-to-reach fog lamp bulbs.

Keeping it
I'm keeping this 507 for a long time. It's been a good garage mate with the Evo. I'm keeping this one close to stock. Xpel wrap, tint, Mode carbon diffuser and H&R springs and call it good. It's currently with my detailer for a Modesta coating. Long term goal is to keep driving it for as long as I can.

I thought I'd have my 98 M3/4/5 forever, but then it got Camryed by a person fiddling with their phone. Picked up a '12 GTI (really liveable, functional, and even somewhat fun car, but just no soul). Recently picked up the C63 after I was sure I wanted a E90, put a deposit on a Golf R, and then made the mistake of test driving this car. Now I can't get the grin off my face (as I drive from gas station to gas station). Assuming it stays together, I'll likely hold onto this one for a while.

I Intend to keep my car for long term.
I have done quite a bit to it already. But I do hope to have a few more things completed over the next little while.
Perhaps a rear wide body
BS hood / Bonnet
Thats it in the near future.

I bought an 09 some time ago while I was changing cars like underwear. Finally decided to settle down a bit and just pick one, it was a 13 C63.
I'm hoping to have this car for 5 years or so. Life happens, but I definitely have more of a want to keep this car than anything else I've had so far. The only thing I see myself letting it go for is the E63S when those prices dip down.

I have had 2 of these, and after three and a half years I still thrill to get behind the wheel. I have a serious case of ADD (for real, not like my beloved Seadderall Seahawks) and have had over 50 cars. I would have to admit to thinking about my next purchase before I have even insured the current one. Anything that can slow down the insanity is just fine by me. I have some concerns re: out of warranty but other than that I would probably just start looking to buy up mod parts guys are selling when they move on.
I think my new sig down below describes how I feel

I have no idea, I usually change once every 2 years, I'm still in love with my 63 like the day I got it, but as it seems to go, I need more power occasionally. Future plans? LTH and x-pipe, then N20 and eventually a blower once it's all paid for, until then, one small thing at a time keeps me interested. I have had some wonderful cars, and so many more that I want to own, but for now, this one has a good hold on me.

PurpleHeart and I can agree sometimes. This is exactly how I feel.

I just love this car too much. I keep on playing around but this will probably be the last toy for a while. At least until I get a job

Firstly - nice thread as it seems to have dragged some lower contributers out of the woodwork like myself who would probably like to contribute more but have nothing to say you guys already don't know. I have had mine for just over a year '10 model and couldn't imagine what my life would be like without my car. It took a long time to be able to get a car like this and here in Aus its not as easy to just trade up to a newer $170k model. I couldn't imagine another car bringing such a smile to my face although I was next to a few year old quattroporte gts the other day and that is a sexy car. I do have a service coming up and know I need knew back pads / rotors, the rear tyres are nearly shot, it need's the tranny service done so the missus will be pissed off with the $ so she may have something to say as to how long I get to keep it !

2017 Dodge Viper GTC, 2014 C63 AMG (gone), 2014 GL450
I've had my '14 since Oct. '13, so it's going on 2 years. When I first got it I thought I would keep it forever, but I admit like others that the E63 S is something I think about when the prices come down. I also have a (crazy?) idea to sell it and get a cheap DD (Mazda3?) and then order a 1 of 1 Viper GTC for '16.

Will probably keep mine until the end but who knows when the next BS will be out and if it will be worth the switch

Have only had my C63 for a couple months but plan on keeping it for a long time, still plenty of mods to do! Currently have 19" HRE's on the way and also Mode Carbon rear diffuser and Luftstrom front lip. I think it will still be a joy to drive even a couple years down the road.

Definitely plan on keeping my baby! We've been through too much to part ways...lol!
But seriously, in the 3 years that I've DD'd her (70K+ miles) she's been more than reliable to me. This M156 is one helluva engine and I'm sad to see it go out of production.
My car is pretty much stock so there's a laundry list of things I want to do to her! Long term plans:
Forged 1-piece wheels
Coilover suspension
CF hood
CF trunk
CF rear diffuser
CF side-view mirrors
F1 Safety Car bumper OR repaint (she's taken quite a beating over the years)
Facelift single-fin grill
and TINTED WINDOWS!! I have yet to still get these done!!

I will be keeping mine until the panels fall off
I'm to invested now and I wouldn't even recover half
But every time I drive it I smile from ear to ear

I've had mine since July 2013 and I am already getting the itch to get into something else. Looked at SO many alternatives but I know I want something powerful and AWD so options are quite limited. I might decide to wait a little till I can afford something really nice but knowing me I probably won't be able to. So while I can't say if I will get rid of it now or soon all I can say is that I definitely will not be keeping it after 2018 cause that'll be 5 years and the car would have depreciated all it's going to and out of warranty and relatively easily sellable.

2010 c63 (p31) w/LSD
This is one of these questions I can answer today but tomorrow I might have a totally different answer. Over the last 15 years I have bought more cars than I have bought shoes and while I am happy with my c63 right now I have thought about replacing it already (I have owned it for 11.5 months) though there are other times where I feel like I could keep it for another 9 years.
I have tinted the windows, upgraded to porterfield brakes, and tuned it (ECv5) and it already has the secondary cats removed. New wheels are on backorder till April but they will come soon enough with some new wider PSS tires. Other than that it will remain stock.
As of right now my plan is to keep it till the warranty ends AUG 2017 and at that time depending on issues sell it or keep it longer but time will tell.

^^ no extended warranty but I almost bought it. I just don't drive my car enough to justify the purchase. By 7 years, my car will have 20k km lol

I thought maybe we had tangled ever so slightly on some meaningless totally forgettable issue once, then made our peace. But I may be thinking of everyone else I ever discussed anything with on the internet

*think about it - if an extended warranty is a good investment how is it mathematically possible for the warranty company to pay 25-50% of your initial outlay to the company that sold it to you, pay for your repairs, then make a big enough profit to be bankrolling an insurance company? The numbers don't add up. <<< Not really a comment for you Roswell, but for all those people that buy them for their refrigerator, their kids RC car and everything else under the sun.
