S+ vs. Manual shift times - Actual Data

Hi all,

I'm curious about other's experiences with transmission modes S+ and M. I know the manual states that the shift times in both modes are 100 ms. However with the 507, it seems that while in M the shifts are faster than S+. Also, the throttle response is much more "crisp" while in M. It's as if the throttle mapping is 100% in M vs. in S+ at say 85%-95%.

Does anyone have any logged data from the ECU notating all the particulars while in S+ or M? I will say that I "allegedly" drive much harder in M than S+. Perhaps the ECU has adapted to M mode vs. S+. Could I need to do the re-adaption technique those have spoke of on here: turn key to on position, press gas pedal to floor for 5 seconds, turn off for 2 minutes and then enjoy...?

Let me know your thoughts.

Wouldn't this involve both ECU and TCU? I'd imagine fuel map would be controlled by the former and shift times by the latter. And the "readaptation technique" I also thought was for the TCU. Anyone? I've always been curious about these things myself, but haven't been able to find much information on these issues.

There should be no shift adaptations in M mode.

My experience has been the opposite. It seems that the downshifts are quicker/more consistent in S+.
