Carbon Fiber with a twist! - Pics inside
Wanted to share an update with you all.
Ever since I purchased the C63, I wanted to ditch the stock wood interior trims for something a bit more sporty. The Carbon trims from MB were priced astronomically high (over 3000 USD) for the set new.
I considered painting the trim gloss black, but was fortunate to come across a very special OEM Carbon set.
Those of you on the hunt for upgrades know all too well how hard it is to find these parts in the aftermarket. let alone a set from a crashed Affalterbach edition sedan.
Side story - There were a total 30 Affalterbach sedans made for the Canadian marketplace. They featured red contrast seat stitching / OEM P30 package / LSD and some had Matte Black paint amongst other specialty options only for the affalterbach edition. An unlucky person totalled 1 of these rare beasts by rolling it over several times.
Aside from the OEM LSD I purchased the OEM Carbon trim from that car. This set is designated 1 of 30 on the specialty ash tray cover plaque.
I wanted to set the trims apart without taking it overboard. I had my preferred body shop (who are also the only certified Ferrari repair facility in Canada) Pinstripe the set by hand, using OEM Rosso Scuderia red from Ferrari.
I enjoy unique touches like this, it gives any build immense character. I will be sure to post installed pictures once completed. I have a few other Carbon goodies being made as we speak

Those would look sick with some red seatbelts and red stitching on the wheel and shift knob! Red stitching on the seats would be nice but too expensive.

Yes these trims are hand pin-striped using OEM Ferrari Rosso Scuderia Paint. Who says I don't have a shiny CF steering wheel as well
You and I are on the same page. I just cant bring myself to spend $1500 CDN + install on a set of seatbelts right now.
To be honest, nothing is different between this and the regular trims aside from the plaque. Its just the rarity of the piece is what makes it special.
Thank you amigo.

Kriston what a great find!
I disagree to an extent with you and others stating red seatbelts and such, I think it will totally take away from these magnificent pieces. I think a red cf start button, a 507 shift knob with red stitching, and a cf steering wheel with red pin stripe and stitching would look absolutely incredible! Anything beyond this and I think it goes JDM on ya.
My .02, but man I love what you have done here.

Thanks a lot Shane,
I do have the CF Steering wheel already I am awaiting my new paddle shifters to carbon over-lay them before install.
I hear you on the Red seat belts, It may be too much. Aside from the Carbon trim pieces. I am swapping out the plastic door pins and plastic seat controls with aluminium versions.
I am contemplating purchasing the affalterbach interior and skip on the seatbelts all together. The Affalterbach edition interior has Red contrast stitching and affalterbach crests embossed on the seats instead of the AMG. The USD conversion is killer right now though

My 507 Coupe has the carbon fiber package as an option and it does not include all of the pieces this OP shows in his pics. The console trim and ashtray covers are piano black on my 2014. I would have loved to complete the deal with what this poster has laid his hands on.

You can see I did the A/C control surround, the ashtray, the shifter surround, and the console surround as well. Didn't cost too much either

Looking sweet Kriston, it will match your red stitching on your shifter boot very well. Good job!!
P.S Good move on not adding red pinstripe to the center console pieces, it would've been too much.

After seeing Saph's pic of his cup holder in CF I think I need that to complete the "look".
I ordered a set of AMG door pins as well, might as well change out the cheap plastic ones while we have the doors off.

I'd personally remove the Affalterbach Edition plaque. The Affalterbach Edition was a clever marketing job, renaming what MB Canada typically calls the Avantgarde package with a fancy name, then slapping a limited edition plaque on it. It's simply a fully loaded model with a small discount to clear the last of the cars before the new model (2012 facelift) arrives. There are a few trims pieces that was unique to the C63 at the time, but all those pieces were made standard on the 2012 facelift.
Leaving the plaque on is like pretending to have a discount model C63 lol.

They are the OEM panels that were wrapped with real carbon fiber. The company is on here, OCarbon. Here is the thread
https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...rior-trim.html
They have some nice colors now that weren't available when I did mine (but I got a killer price for being one of the first to send them my parts)

The plaque is held down with an epoxy adhesive. I was contemplating the removal of it. But its too much trouble, I understand that it was "promotional package" but like everything else in this world the value is in its rarity more-so as to how the vehicles are spec'd. I would only assume those affalterbach editions command a premium over the normal P30 sedans. If you can even find one for purchase.
Im okay with having a discounted C63 I bought mines bare bones and slowly building.
There were a few other packages you could only get on the Affalterbach, IE: Matte black paint (which was not part of the designo collection at that time) different seat appointments etc.
