question on ipod/iphone/media adapters

question on ipod/iphone/media adapters
I am a little disappointed about the old technology in my C63 (2009).
To make a long story short, the previous owner had installed (as I highly doubt it is a stock option) an ipod adapter. I found this wire in the glove compartment - looks like a make 30pin connector.
I never really used it as I did not drive the car much, but since I have been letting my girlfriend drive my SUV, I have began driving more and more the C63, which is actually, not a bad thing
Ok, fast forward to my question. I have no idea how this wire/cable was installed, but I just want to be able to play pandora or music from my iphone 6 by using this adapter. Can I simply get a 30pin to 8pin adapter like these to be able to play it?
