Media cable routing... ideas?...

I have contemplated cutting a notch in the housing of my center console lid so that the media cable can run to my phone with both lids closed. Anyone do anything different that might cause me to rethink this? Since the USB jack is inside the console it would have made sense for MB to provide a channel for the cord but hey, they got the engine right so I'm not complaining.

Its a pain, but you CAN actually close both lids and have a wire stick out.

There is a certain order you have to close them in and move the wire over to that side. I think driver's side first, slide it over as much as you can and then close the passenger side (or vice versa)

Try these, I used to have them on my 2010 C300 and btw the cord on that was in the glovebox. Those are the only ones that didn't rip apart. If you don't want the AUX then try to find something similar for the USB

I haven't put much time in with my external media connections. What are the advantages of hard wiring the phone over using Bluetooth?

I'd have to say sound quality for one plus better battery life for the phone. However, you can't change the songs if you're using AUX, you can only do it using Bluetooth or USB.

You kinda hear the quality when you turn the volume all the way up but Bluetooth is much easier lol

Do it so that the wire comes out through the front end of the 2 lids. It used to mash the rubber seals for me too .
